Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yikes, sarameg, I worry about that one with my long hair, but I always worry about the kitchen stove, not the tub.

WRT VP picks, I think Clinton has a tough task in front of her as the Republicans who don't want to vote for Trump will disparage her if she picks someone who is too progressive and the Bernie crowd who are still angry will disparage her if she picks someone too moderate. Then agwin, her choice whatever it is suddenly is going to look way more rational and solid simply by comparison.

I'm trying to work out who will lose more votes to the Libertarians, and I'm hoping it's Trump.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Laura, lots of ~ma for your mom. Safe driving wishes for you.

I wonder how many people are praying "Please, God, don't let her pick her husband." Which would be a very bad idea, because the Fox headlines write themselves, but the thousands of heads exploding would be lovely to see.

Wasted prayers, eh, what with term limits and all. On the other hand, I too worry that a Clinton/Warren ticket might be more women than the electorate can stomach. I'd vote for them happily come November, but I'd be holding my breath over how others will vote.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Julian Castro is on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me this week, and at least he's funny?

It finally got hot here, and I'm trying to decide if I should put on the big air conditioner, or just get out of the house. It would be a perfect beach day, but I have a massage appointment, so the timing isn't great. Maybe tomorrow.

Beauty-istas! I think I'm too cheap to have my grays covered professionally, so am trying to figure out what to do at home. I don't trust myself to do highlights myself and actually get all the gray, so I'm thinking about all-over color. BUT! I really like my hair color! If I get a box of color with no bleaching action, do you think that will cover the gray without fucking up my whole head?

Our wings are not tired.

Mom is out of surgery. Had to remove a small section that was strangulated. In recovery. Surgeon has zero personality or willingness to answer questions. Fortunately her PCP is awesome. She was on vacation but came by twice with hubby and kids to check on mom. Not sure how long she will be I hospital but a while since her age and pneumonia complicates stuff. But got through surgery so calling it a win.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We are having a few friends over this afternoon for a party for the little guy. Gary just went out to pick up the cake and a few other things at the supermarket.

Healing ~ma for your mother, Laura.

Sending good thoughts for your mother, Laura. Surgery at that age is no joke.

Jesse, I admit that I loved getting my color done professionally. It was really relaxing, although not cheap. But it looked far better than I could do at home, and didn't result in a huge mess in the kitchen. And they can do stuff like give you streaks and highlights so it doesn't look all one shade, which not a lot of hair really is.

It was expensive, but if you get a color weave or highlights you don't need to get the roots touched up as often, and it also matters how you style it. I was able to get away with white roots for a long time, if I used enough gel.

Went for a run with my niece this morning, which resulted in us running a lot faster than I usually do! Good for us but kind of a sign that I've been slacking.
