That vocab quiz had a lot of parallelism issues. Did not like. (I would've gone catalyze/prevent)
Pokemon and racism. Yep.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Ok. I was saying in my head "A Catalyst", "A Prevention" and it sounded wrong.
Think of it as prevention takes the article "the" rather than "a."
Tanks. I was thinking of sentences like "That chemical is a catalyst, this chemical is a prevention". Which makes no sense!
I went with damp defining it as in preventing or smothering a reaction.
ETA: Note, I did the test, did pretty well, then took it again and did worse.
That is so cool. Good Luck, DavidS!
So, the POTUS approached JAMA and said he would like to write an article about the Affordable Care Act, and it was published today. Can you IMAGINE being the poor editor who had to edit the President???? (It wasn't me.) Or having to follow up and pester him if he didn't return the article on time?
Apparently this is the first time a POTUS from the modern era (however that's defined; it was in a press release) has been published in JAMA. The whole company is losing its shit. In a professional way.
Makes me think of Jon Favreau who became Obama's speechwriter in the 2008 campaign. He was like 23 at the time. Apparently his first meeting with Obama was after he removed a part of a speech that happened to be Obama's favorite part.
I just realized there are 2 Jon Favreaus.
Yeah, I just realized that not too long ago. I started listening to a podcast Jon Favreau was on and started wondering who the hell is the actor/director guy, when I was expecting a political guy.
