"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm just feeling generally disappointed myself in a bunch of ways.

NOT What Scrappy Said!

Let me remind you of all the awesome things you are, aside from being a font of practicable life wisdom.

Took up roller skating later in life and mastered the Mowhawk.

Felt urge to get back to creative self and worked up a stand-up routine! Super extra bonus Scrappy points for this.

Have cool hair.

Happily married to a cool guy.

Owns amusing dogs.

Holds down tricksy managerial position and the lawyer agrees with you 100%.

Friends with Alibelle.

Is adored, admired and respected by all her many cool friends.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

What Hec said.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Well, this is an exciting morning. Some dogs got into a bad fight at the dog park across the street, one of them appears to be dead, and one of the owners was bitten on the hand and maybe the head somehow. And now the ambulance is here.

... and this is why I don't go into dog parks.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Thank you for the supportive and needed words you guys. And, yikes, Consuela!

Our wings are not tired.

My pooch picked up a dog flu at a doggie rest area off I-95. My Vet strongly dislikes dog parks. We have a kids park across the street and sometimes at night there will be a neighbor dog that wants to run and we'll let Zoe off leash. She was totally embarrassed by a border collie a couple days ago. The other dog was even running in a wider circle to give her a chance and get her to keep it up. It is stupid hot here this time of year so they don't run long before they were lying down with tongues hanging out. I walk with her, but a Dobie needs to go faster than her old mother can manage.

Also, what Hec said so well.

Animal Control came and got some of the dogs: I suspect these were the dogs that did the most damage. Ambulance is still there, I suspect they might be taking the guy to the hospital.

Anyone sensible does not let their dogs run loose in this yard: it's full of foxtails and there's no garbage bin, and people just pile their poop bags next to the fence, as if some poop fairy is going to clean up after them. And yet I see people in there all the time with their dogs. It's kind of a nightmare, and since it's on private land, I will not be surprised if the landowner gives up and locks the gate so nobody can use it.

So I'm sad that this happened, but I'm not surprised.

Oh, I was looking for the soccer game and saw that Serenity just started on Fuse. Soccer is playing in the other room so I am sticking to Serenity.

I've just discovered that Penny Dreadful is available on Netflx. I'm partway through the first episode, and it's really good so far.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My MIL hosted a birthday party for the little guy today. Even though it was just the grandparents, the little guy and us, it got a bit overwhelming. Not for him, for me. Now we have the leftover birthday cake in the freezer, and a bunch of new toys for him to ignore.(He has a bunch of toys scattered around the computer room, and what does he play with? The trash can and various cords, plugged in or not. Babies...)
