Which hotel, Teppy? And can you plan an extra hour in your return trip to take a stroll through Old Salem? Man, I miss Old Salem. Salem College uses the old buildings as classrooms, and our poetry classes and workshops were held there. I miss the Center for Women Writers library/meeting room as much as I miss my old house. If you're there around meal time, check out Salem Tavern and snicker at the waitpeople in pre-Revolutionary drag. Those kneebritches and hose do show off some nice calves occasionally, though.

I am overwhelmed with wanting to do everything and just seem to be doing nothing. Help me choose (partial list of what I WANT to do today (impossible)):
bake banana bread
move everything off and really clean kitchen counters (at least one section)
move furniture and deep clean back living room (at least half the room)
make gazpacho
sweep and mop kitchen
vacuum both living rooms
I already did dishes, got a load of laundry in, and cleaned out the litter.
Start the bread and then do the counters while it's in the oven. Unless it's too hot for that. If so, do the living room.
My party was cancelled, which was probably the right call because even though it hasn't rained (yet) (here), it's chilly! And the thing I went to turned out to be a meeting, not a rally, but maybe there's a rally I can go to tomorrow.
I've got to remember to get up relatively early and run errands, then slink back home before the worst of the heat hits. I go out in the heat and my brain stops working. There's a reason the siesta exists.
it might actually be too hot to start the bread good call. We have a storm headed this way, so I got the laundry out to dry before it gets here. I am going to get mac from a friend's and then I will DO THE LIVING ROOM because Jesse said so (and probably good call since I spend most of my time in here and I will feel better if I get it cleaner).
Sigh. The girl I was texting with in Portland finally came clean on why she's been super sporadic the past week or two, she met someone else. Boo. I'm happy for her but sad for me. (Not like we were dating, and not like I thought we'd fall in love, but still, less sexy texting and no chance of weekend fun)
Woo hoo [edit: msbelle]! If it were me, I would start with vacuuming, because it's so satisfying it sometimes keeps me going, and if not, at least it's visibly done.
Boo meara, boo.
I would just like to note that the background music at trader Joe's is annoyingly correctly target marketed. I always walk out humming happily to myself and don't notice until later that I've bought twice the items on my list.
Well, I've worked on a damaged part of the fence with my FIL, done three loads of dishes, put away two loads of laundry, started another load of laundry, did some cleaning in the basement, did some cleaning in the total disaster that is the basement, now I'm off to grocery store, then I'm going to make my wife's favorite dish since she is feeling stressed and maybe get some flowers, while it's cooking, I'm planning on washing the sheets, and after dinner I need to pay some bills. I should end the day with a crushing headache that's already pounding away and with my wife massively pissed at me for reasons I don't fully understand. Fun day.
