Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Not Billytea. But as I understand it you are fined modestly for not voting. I presume the bill is mailed to you the way it is when running a red light is captured by a traffic camera in the USA. Also if you wish to not vote as a matter of principle, you can cast a blank or spoiled ballot. You only get fined for not showing up. Dunno what they do if you get sick or trapped in a collapsed tunnel or something at the last moment.

Nice! She in your hood, or you in hers?

She is in my hood. I miss living near a pile of Buffistae. I need my impending raise to be enough to cover travel. So many places I want to go and people I want to visit.

Our wings are not tired.

Good that you were able to get together. I need to get out and about more often, and more people need to visit Florida.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

After we got home from the con, we went to a friend's house for a barbecue. Got to meet her daughter(born in January) and played games. The little guy is not happy about being put to bed and is wailing away.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I went to Clintonville to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday today. I'm now in Madison and will head home to Chicago tomorrow.

I just have to brag that Mason, my 13 year old son, made up a joke involving quantum entanglement.

Coding and Sleeping

I worked today after a very stressful weekend. Corporate doesn't get treated differently from store employees and since the stores are only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas those are the only official holidays.

Hung out in the field to watch the bottom half of fireworks (seriously, cloud ceiling too low) with neighbors from a few blocks over west (I pass their house every sat on the way to market) who actually grew up at 3601 on my block. Funny story, G wasn't the first guy missing a foot to work accident to live there. Wonder if I should warn current residents. #neighborhoodcarrots
