I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

we leave at the ass crack of morning on Saturday for a weekend with family I haven't really seen in awhile. people I love dearly and who are fun and nice, so that should be good. I think tomorrow I will call and schedule a spa day that I have a gift card for. That is 2 things for July that I can look forward to and then only 3 weeks of August until school starts. I can totally do this. I have wine and beer and work.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Man, it's just one fucking medical expense after another lately. It's going to be nearly $2,000 for a nurse practitioner to drain an absecss... after insurance.

I feel this. I just picked out frames for my first-ever bifocals, which are expensive as hell even with insurance. (And I also get prescription sunglasses -- which is my choice, I know -- but that adds another $200 to the total.) And then Friday I get to spend $2,000 for 2 crowns. And my new IBS drug could potentially cost $300 (but probably won't, because it's a brand-name drug that has a discount program, which I am totally using). (And that's assuming that fucking Humana will even cover the drug.)

Our wings are not tired.

I have wine and beer and work.

And Buffistas! Who love you and wish there were answers when there are none. Mindfully taking care of yourself is a good plan.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm sorry you have to put up with all that, Rebecca. Hopefully the weekend will be relaxing and rejuvenating.

Gud, you're doing more this evening than I got done all weekend. Can you clone yourself, I need a you.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Grilled meat, melted provolone, on a good hoagie roll. Onions available on request.

I'm going to quibble and say an Amoroso roll. Also, for me, I think of cheese whiz as most authentic, though I like provolone better. And for me, though not traditional, mushrooms.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

So I was right???

Yes, yes you were. I will totally affirm your rightness.

I have no opinion on cheesesteak as I believe, by any measure valued by those who love them, I've never had a proper cheesesteak. I've only had whatever it is they make here in California. A sandwich, on a roll, with steak and cheese in it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Cheese Whiz is an abomination. (Who am I kidding, I'd eat it. But it's wrong, and I would ashamed.)

Untrue!! Whiz is one of the two possible cheeses on your steak.

I can totally do this. I have wine and beer and work.

You can totally do this! You also do have us.

A controversial opinion for the new millennium: La Croix is no better than Polar Seltzer, and possibly less good.

I have my own SodaStream machine, so I am godlike and have fizzy water whenever I want it. But I -- for real -- think all brands of fizzy water/seltzer are the same. So I'm kind of a heathen.

I share your heathen habits, Steph. I am perhaps even more heathen as I don't even have a soda stream.

Other than tonic water for my G&Ts and the occasional seltzer, I have very little interest in soda water at all.
