Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Freezer is sorted, now I'm crossing my fingers that it freezes up again or else we will need to buy a new fridge, uh, tomorrow.

Meanwhile this afternoon I am taking my daughter and her friend down to OC to see Dan and Phil's The Amazing Tour Is Not On Fire. There will be 4 girls together, moms will be hanging out in South Coast Plaza while they attend the show. Despite their not being a rock band, I think this counts as their first big concert, right?

I am decidedly anxious about it even though I'm sure it will all go well. But still... driving to OC, parking, meeting up with people in public spaces with no one getting lost, 4 girls on their own!, safety rules and reminders, 4 GIRLS ON THEIR OWN! Ugh.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We (Tim and his brothers, plus the wives [which makes us sound vaguely Fury Road-esque]) have an appointment with the family attorney today to get our questions answered about getting all the financial/logistic ducks in a row to start the process of finding an assisted living community for his dad. It needs to happen, and he'll be so much happier there, but it's also depressing because change sucks, as does dementia.

Relatedly, Tim's brother is still gung-ho about strong-arming their dad down to the beach even though he doesn't want to go and cannot fucking walk up or down even 5 steps, let alone THREE FLIGHTS. (I've said my peace; they all know I think this is a stupid-ass idea, and there's nothing else I can do. Plus I genuinely think that when Tim's brother shows up on the day it's time to leave and tells his dad that he's going to pack his bag for him and they're getting in the car, his dad is going to tell him in no uncertain terms that he's staying home. And if that happens, Tim's brother has said he'll respect that. [Which makes me full of raaaaaaaaage, because god damn it, why can't he just respect that NOW????])

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

None of that stuff is easy, Steph.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Tim's brother is irritating ME!

Did you guys know that there is a "Pod4Ham"? [link] Not associated with the show, but it is song by song analysis.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I also just learned about that this morning! (Assuming you heard it on EHG.)

Remember the person who took my request for help and turned it into a huge thing? She took forever to get me anything and (as I predicted) it is not at all what I needed! So I'm still having to do approximately 75% of the work, and I wish I had another week to work on it, as I had originally planned. ARGH.

At therapist. This is the first appt that Mac set up because he wanted one before the scheduled one. Counting the minutes until I am called back and told how mean I am.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Sorry, msbelle. However, here's some (good?) news about Burger King: [link]

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I think I have to try those.

I'm sorry, msbelle.

Does anyone have any brilliant advice for dealing with a 10 month old who is starting to tantrum?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Not called back yet. Maybe she is telling him he is full of shit.

What's the likelihood of that?

I'm watching the periscope feed of the HoR sit in.
