Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A Samba for Sherlock?

No, I do not! I just refound in my house a Holmes pastiche that is very odd, where Pagan magic has built a wall around England, and Queen Victoria choose Watson to be her consort through a ritual, and Holmes isn't named Holmes, and it's very odd. I'll find the citation when I get home tonight.

Oh, and i Enter the Lion, which is a Mycroft story set when Sherlock has just left or is still in university.

I was just trying to figure out how I am going to grocery shop on the way home, since I forgot to bring a reusable bag, but! They will still give you free bags in the city of Boston, where I now work! Also, there is a TJ's across the street, so maybe I'm going to find some super exciting dinner there.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Enter the Lion is my favorite Mycroft book! My BFF gave it to me for one of my birthdays.

Oh, lord, the insurance company's own tech support technician just said to the customer "I don't know what you're talking about." I'd be on report for saying that to a customer.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Gary stayed home with the little guy today. Looks like I'll be staying home tomorrow with him, as he still had a slight fever this afternoon.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'm also curious about Kareem's Mycroft book.

In other news, there was a huge power outage here on one of the hottest days of the year, cutting AC to Stray Rescue's shelter. A bunch of volunteers provided temporary foster care for the dogs until the AC could come back on - only to have 20 of those 'temporary' fosterings turn into permanent adoptions in less than 24 hours.

Sometimes, people don't suck.

That's awesome!

Storm cut short my swim. I thought it was going really crappy anyway, wondering if I was getting sick, as I kept getting so winded, I had to take a break after half a mile. Um, no, just swimming a pace I cannot sustain for 50 minutes. But I got a mile in, so good enough!

Good humans. You get a dog and a biscuit.

Helped our newbie resolve a merge conflict this morning so that I could get an epic code push started this afternoon. I am exhausted now, but I successfully ran away from my desk at 4:30 and I'll be home soon. If my apartment isn't too hot, I may make soup for dinner.

I also got a surprise gift and a bonus for helping out with something a while back, which was nice.
