All right, yes, date and shop and hang out and go to school and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm sorry, Sheryl. We had our big family Father's Day gathering today, which was very nice until it was time for ltc's afternoon nap. She was obviously exhausted, but she had an epic meltdown when we tried to put her in a crib and would not stop, which is very unlike her. My father-in-law ended up having to take her for a walk outside in her stroller to calm her down.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

You're looking too, Epic?

Yeah. I'm surprised you weren't aware. It feels like such a major part of me, I must assume you can read it on my face. I think I'm making some progress with Comic Book Store Guy, but it's moving at such a glacial damn pace, I would be perfectly pleased to institute a Plan B.

Okay I should preface with I've never played matchmaker to anyone, so there's that. Also if I know him, he's probably either an academic or a dad or both. :-)

Ha, at my age, I don't expect a guy with no baggage. I'd just like baggage that complements mine, as it were. (And frankly, an academic sounds like a plus to me!)

Had a great time with friends tonight doing the Night Nation Run. It's a cross between a 5k and a dance party. Run a little, walk a little, dance a little. It was awesome.

That does sound fun.

Did a bouncy castle obstacle course 5K today.

As does this.

I just signed up for a 5k at the end of July. Jogging for Frogmen - but I checked, walking for the Frogmen is okay too. I wouldn't mind trying to throw in a bit of jogging too, but the friend I signed up with is less fat, but also less fit, than me, so I don't want to push her harder than she can go. The speed I jog at, I'm sure a brisk walk is just as good exercise-wise.

Suzi, that sounds awesome. And your pic is adorable!

Gud, what they said. I really hope you find some help - with chores, with stress, with all of it.

I also got a ticket this week, parking without evidence of Registration. No idea what the heck happened to my sticker, but I paid the registration back in December, so I'm fighting it (sort of). Once I find my proof of registration, I can send it in with $10 instead of paying the whole thing. Which is only $37.50, but I'm still not gonna cave. Which is nothing compared to meara's ticket, so not even looking for sympathy!

Went to Irish Night at the Padres last night with a gal I know from Irish Dancing and the House of Ireland. We've known each other a few years, but never been super-close. I've made gestures in the past, but she never really responded, so I just figured this was the level of friendship we were going to stay at. As she was saying good night she commented how much fun she had hanging out with me, and sounded a little surprised. I'm a smidge insulted at the sounding surprised part, but another friend for fun hangouts would be nice, so I've gotten over it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, Dana!

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

::sigh::

The saddest part of ending a vacation is turning the morning alarm back on.

Fuck. The universe totally owes you one.

Sigh. Well, the clothes were fine for the date, which seemed awesome (we kayaked for 90 mi Utes and then had dinner and drinks), but then at the end of the date, a quick hug. Oh well. She's very cool, so I'd be her friend, but...

And owwwwwwwwww my shoulders are going to hurt tomorrow. We rowed pretty far and then realized we had to book it to get back before they closed, and the wind was seriously blowing against us. I am not made of upper body strength!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We moved into our new office this morning, and it's very nice, but I'm in a cube directly outside the CEO's office! And right next to his super-chatty EA. I guess this is my office-hours farewell for now.

Coding and Sleeping

I have an old high school friend who became Christian, which is fine and all that, but I've noticed lately that he's become more and more conservative. Now he posts anti-gun-control stuff. It seems like such a strange connection to me, but I see it a lot. I wonder why there there is link being being Christian and opposing gun-control measures.

move out and draw fire

Something about turning the other cheek?

For the last 15 years, I've had "remain unindicted" as a career goal.
