The goodness of Bacon Day is fleeting, kind of like how bacon is best when consumed soon after it cooks.

I accidentally re-followed a friend who says she is in the middle, politically, but she is drinking the Republican punch. Anyway, it only took two posts and I un-followed her again. OMG the hatred for Hillary is beyond reason.

And, ok, if she really IS all the awful things they are saying, is Trump immune from that same scrutiny? I so completely do not understand the support he has - I mean, I get the people who are all "yay, someone saying all the racist things I feel" - they are already mentally suspect. It is the people who I know have brains, such as this friend, who support him.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm sorry, msbelle. I seem at 2s and 3s by that scale. No 5s lately, thank goodness, but I can't remember when I didn't have to fake a 1 not to poop on someone else's happiness.

I promised myself a short stack with sausage *and* syrup AND eggs and bacon at the diner this morning to motivate getting up and out to the lab to have blood drawn. My annual is next week and she's ordered a bunch of tests. The waiting room was full, I was drowsy but too on-alert to nap. She only had to stick twice to find a vein, but she fanned the first one, and both stung like a mofo, and both are bruising already. I had a thermos of coffee in the car, but once I'd downed a cup, I pointed the car home. I just didn't feel social enough to brave the diner, even for bacon.

Punishingly Intricate

It is the people who I know have brains, such as this friend, who support him.

If she does, she ain't using them.

I think I've hidden most of my family members who I know are Republican, just in case. The only one I haven't, my older brother, is SUPER anti-Trump and I'm pretty sure he won't actually vote for Trump just to get a Repub elected.

In non-political news, we commissioned a painting of our cats (SO NERDY!!) and it finally is done!! The artist, whose stuff I looove, brought it by today. It's super awesome!

I feel like my 5s are entirely too dependent on what is happening around me and based on other people, which is hard to sustain

In other good news: may have just finagled a new work laptop! My current one is over 4 years old, I got it when I joined the company. And the battery says it needs replacing, so I notified IT. The tech IM'd me and said he'd send a new battery but I asked when we are getting new computers (it was rumored to be Q1 and Q2) and he confirmed I had an old one and said he'd send a new one next week! Fingers crossed.

Ann, that's a ferret.

is Trump immune from that same scrutiny?

He shouldn't be.

I think a lot of the original force behind the Trump and Sanders campaigns were the belief that the System doesn't work for most people, and we need a new System that does. The catch is, what should the new System be? And let us say, at the least, that Sanders and Trump have articulated very different visions of a new System.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That cat portrait is terrific! I never wanted a cat portrait before, but now I do.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, that painting is fantastic.

Brain musings. First of all, I'm with Hillary, was all the way through the caucus process. My reasons had little to do with the fact that she is a woman. That fact was a side bonus.

All over my various feeds, everyone has been going on and on about her being the presumptive nominee, which fantastic - that is what I wanted - but concentrating only on the fact that she is a woman. As if that is the only reason many people voted for her. Which just feeds into the Republican narrative.

There is nothing I can say and it is likely just my own brain fritzing out on this. I just...am I alone?
