Instead of going to work tomorrow, I would like to not go to work and just watch TV all day instead.
I almost did this because my sinuses are a mess, and then I remembered that I have too many meetings today. I blew off my first meeting so I could take migraine meds and go back to bed for a while. My grump is infinite.
Instead of doing my work, I am thinking about activities to do on my staycation. I think one day I'll take the train to Old Orchard Beach in Maine, where I can walk down to the part of the beach I used to go to at summer camp and get a raspberry lime rickey. Maybe a float? I was kind of into it the one time I did it, and it seems sufficiently outside of my normal life, but maybe I should be looking for cheaper ways to spend my time.
That sounds fun.
I don't feel very good. Going for a walk outside was better, but sitting at my desk now is not agreeing with me.
Oh, I'm also going to go to the Aquarium to have lunch with my old boss who works there now, so I can make a day of that. I kind of feel like three day trips would be the right number.
Yeah.
And I realize saying "float" right after "raspberry lime rickey" perhaps did not sufficiently indicate that I meant the sensory-deprivation thing! Which I can do in Somerville.
My staycation activities consisted of napping, watching tv, and reading. But that's what I
wanted
to do, so I'm not complaining. Sometime I ought to take a staycation that involves doing some fun stuff.
Since that's pretty much all I do in my non-work regular time, I want to do some other stuff as well!

Oh, ha, I thought you meant like a root beer float!
Three day trips sounds about right to me.
So, I have been at work for 6 hours (upon returning from a 6-day vacation) and I am already SO OVER IT.
