True, the odds of them comparing notes on who gave what are low. But cards are cheap, if Grad #3 is who I think it is, her grand-parents have been friends of mine and Hubby's for decades.

Which reminds me that we have a graduation gift to get for this weekend. Sheesh, 3 of the niecephews have bought houses in the past several months, 1 had a new baby, and 1 just graduated from high school. Lots to celebrate, and a lot of gift cards. (Tim didn't understand why there aren't baby showers for second babies. "They still need diapers!" he said. So we sent them a Target gift card, but I suggested they buy some chocolate and wine for themselves, too.)

I just realized how old that statement makes me feel. Bad enough that the children of people I've known forever are graduates, but the grand-children of people I've known forever are graduates--and not even the oldest grand-children!
30 years should not pass so stealthily.
Don't think of it as missing a deadline, think of it as underscoring your indispensability to the company!
Ugh, I don't want to be indispensable, I want a vacation! Also "I am the only one who can do this and I was on vacation" is no excuse for missing a deadline!
UCLA shooting update: They are saying it was a murder-suicide, two men dead. Lockdown lifted.
Anybody know anything about pillowfort.io? I can find stuff they've posting, but no real commentary from anyone else.
I've been following them on Tumblr for a while. I don't know anything about who's behind it. If they're trying to scam people out of money, though, it's a long con.
Soooooo....do you guys remember that I had a job interview with an int'l org last summer for a job in Warsaw? It was a video conference interview, which was in retrospect, pretty awkward, and I didn't get the job. I thought that even before I got their PFO email.
Fast forward to yesterday when I get an email from their director of HR saying "the situation might change in the near future" and asking me if I would still be interested in the job. Eeee! The prospect of the job, good money, the chance to live in and see more of Europe are exciting and terrifying. Also what do I do with my house? What do I do about Oz? He doesn't even have a rabies shot!
I emailed them to say I would be interested in being considered and she wrote back to ask if I would be free to Skype on Friday morning about the recruitment process and timeline. At this point I have no idea if they are planning to offer me the job or if they're looking at other candidates. At once it feels surreal and like shit is getting really real.
Timelies all!
And we seem to have gone right into summer from early spring. Oh, well...
