I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am at work, but not especially awake. Woe.

In fun news, Aetna invited me to take a survey about my satisfaction with them. Ha. Ha ha ha.

I hope you tell them what you really think, Dana.

In other news, I did not go to bed last night when I should have and now I'm a monster who hates everything.

Sorry for your loss, Pix.

Yesterday was weird. I kept forgetting it was a holiday since I was working.

Just came across an issue where it looks like there is a linefeed in the name of smarthome device. Why did we allow people to but linefeeds in the names of their devices? Ugh.

The DPRK has endorsed Trump because of course they do.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I was just lamenting that 3 day weekends really just make coming back to work worse.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm sorry for your loss, Pix. I'm so glad you were able to get the time to be with your mother, and I'm enjoying the celebration pictures you're posting on Facebook.

Good luck, Suzi.

I don't know what to do with that information, Gud. But I can tell you that I finished Cog and really enjoyed it. The narrative surprised me in good ways and the characters are very likable.

Watering my cardboard for 15 minutes at 8 am left me all sticky with sweat; I am pretty glad to be working inside where there's air conditioning today. Although, short week means, as usual, too much to do.

Watering my cardboard

????

All my life, I didn't know that new cardboard comes from the cardboard farms.

I need a bunch of cardboard boxes, I guess I should plant some seeds.

Oh cool. Thank you. I'm not struggling with figuring out how to promote it right now. I've made a couple of review requests at blogs that review middle-grade books and I'm trying to find more. I might contact the county paper too, not a large audience but they might print something if things are slow.

Oh, right, that post got eaten when I accidentally unplugged my laptop yesterday and I was too tired to retype it. I'm working on replacing my lawn (which is bermuda grass and salsify and thistles, mostly, plus whatever other weeds decide to come up) with something I will not have to mow. So, rather than digging up the whole yard and replanting, I am "cardboarding". I spent about 4 hours yesterday cutting up cardboard boxes and laying them out around the edges of my front yard, and weighing them down with bricks and what not so they wouldn't blow away, and this morning wet it all down pretty good. Next step is a layer of mulch on top of the cardboard and then regular watering. The plants underneath the cardboard should die from lack of sunlight and compost along with the cardboard, and September or so I should be able dig holes through the cardboard for my new plants. We'll see how it goes.
