That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

It feels like more driving. Whether it is or not, don't really know.

Well, I'm just going by what google tells me. I generally like to go that way when I'm heading west. It's prettier.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Totally practiced a social skill just now! There is a "meet and greet" with a new person (and pie!) in the conference room. I got my pie and saw that the new person was basically sitting alone, so I joined him and started chatting (we have met already). Another person came over and I introduced them, and then gave my seat away so the two of them could talk next! I realize this is basic cocktail party stuff, but I always feel so awkward.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

And the thing that makes me give up and walk away from FB is a discussion with a friend's husband about Hydra!Cap and how silly it is to be bothered about it. It's not a flame-out, because I don't want to disrupt my friendship with his wife, especially over a comic book character. (See? I do have perspective.) I'm just weary of his paternalistic attitude.

Well, I was planning to avoid social media on my vacation next week anyway, so this was timed well, I guess.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Zenkitty, his comments PISSED ME OFF hard, but I didn't know if you wanted anyone busting in all Kool-Aid Man style and yelling at him. He literally said that he didn't see anyone policing people's reactions...right below the comment where he policed people's reactions. Raaaaaaaaage.

brillig

I've decided Hydra!Cap is an AU despite what the writer and editor think, because Marvel always changes its mind.

edit: especially if people stop buying Cap merchandise. Cap may not be so popular a visitor to children's hospitals, either, unless people are a whole lot better at separating comics from MCU.

Steph, that's where I needed to walk away. If you want to join the discussion, be my guest...

awww our kitty who is super shy with strangers is acting like I'm a stranger today. She's been hiding under the futon in bob's office all day and when I looked under it at her she ran and hid under our bed. Making me sad!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, don't make lisah sad, kitty! You know her.

I can't even with the Cap stuff. I'm just not acknowledging it's happening. Not that I am a comics-reading person, but still.

I think I am going to have to come in early next Tuesday. Rats. But I don't see a way around it, I've got this damn conference call at 9 and there's information that must be gathered before then that is just not available today. I suppose I could do that part from home over the weekend, but that would be even worse.

What's the Cap-Hydra stuff? I could google but i know you guys can give a much better explanation of why people are upset (I don't read the comics).
