I got my first paycheck from the new contract! Except they didn't manage to set up the 403(b) deduction in time. Granted, I got the paperwork in last Thursday morning, unaware that since it was paper checks this run, they were actually processing them last Friday. I'll look into a onetime extra contribution in the next or later paycheck.
Gotta call water company, pretty sure I'm overpaying since new meter. Sigh. It's an epidemic here, this is gonna be fun and doubtful I can get refunded. Still haven't reinitiated roofer calls. Work is batshit insane.
Getting it done, msbelle!
I am allergic to All The Pollens And Also Mold, but the real kicker is dust mites because they live on my freaking skin*. So yeah, seasonal allergies, but also allergies to my actual own skin which is all the time.
*Technically on everyone's skin, not just mine. I am not an ecological preserve for dust mites.
A/C = yes please. For many years we were so proud of getting by with just the ceiling fans. And then just the one window unit in the baby's room. And then just window units in the bedrooms. And then last summer I said fuck this and I went to Costco and bought a big-ass window unit for the living/dining/kitchen and OMGHELLYES. The new house has central air, so we're leaving the window units in for the buyer, if they want them.
See, I assume that the climate of NYC is, in general, a lot like Cincinnati (I was in NYC for the 4th of July where half the damn city got heatstroke, so you can't fool me), so I am always blown away at people not having a/c. Although people here don't have it, too, so really I've just sold my soul to central air. Happily.
First paycheck celebratory shoes: [link] (Really was just waiting for a sale.)
All right, I had some beers and socialized with coworkers and their dogs, and now I'm finally headed home. Errands will get done tomorrow, I guess. Oh, but I do need to stop at the grocery store for milk.
Not having central air anymore is still pretty weird.
I want more, but being reasonable.
Oooh, those are some fine shoes!
I only ever had central air once. It was nice at the time, and I probably will go for a wall unit at some point, but I don't think I ned the full shebang here.
