Where'd they get CAT scan from?... I mean, did they test it on cats? Or does the machine sort of look like a cat?

brillig

I have no central air. I have a cunning arrangement of open window, ceiling fan, and box fan in the bedroom doorway in the depths of summer.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I was not feeling great yesterday (thus the list of accomplishments). I feel worse today. SInce my therapist asked me to start rating each day how I felt (trying to determine if there is a cycle or cause), it is the first where I was edging toward the lowest ranking.

so another list to make me feel better maybe, at least visual proof that I am accomplishing things.

end of work:

get mac's dinner
feed cat (AMAZINGLY MAC FEEDS THE DOG)
get mail/take to recycling
clothes out of washer (put in this morning) onto drying rack
new load in washer
boxes out of car
pay water bill
activate new credit card
logged food for day (looks like I will make my calorie goal for FIRST TIME ALL WEEK)
load out of washer and another load in

I should gather some dinner and then I am watching a movie or two tonight, they are due back at library.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go msbelle! You are accomplishing a lot!

I, on the other hand, have had enough of today and am going to watch TV and drink wine for a while. And not think about how much stuff I have to do tomorrow before I leave early to go the doctor. Maybe it just won't get done, that's probably okay.

I intended to leave work a while ago to run errands, but then some shit broke and now I'm going to have a beer with some coworkers because traffic is super terrible.

I got my first paycheck from the new contract! Except they didn't manage to set up the 403(b) deduction in time. Granted, I got the paperwork in last Thursday morning, unaware that since it was paper checks this run, they were actually processing them last Friday. I'll look into a onetime extra contribution in the next or later paycheck.

Gotta call water company, pretty sure I'm overpaying since new meter. Sigh. It's an epidemic here, this is gonna be fun and doubtful I can get refunded. Still haven't reinitiated roofer calls. Work is batshit insane.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Getting it done, msbelle!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I am allergic to All The Pollens And Also Mold, but the real kicker is dust mites because they live on my freaking skin*. So yeah, seasonal allergies, but also allergies to my actual own skin which is all the time.

*Technically on everyone's skin, not just mine. I am not an ecological preserve for dust mites.

A/C = yes please. For many years we were so proud of getting by with just the ceiling fans. And then just the one window unit in the baby's room. And then just window units in the bedrooms. And then last summer I said fuck this and I went to Costco and bought a big-ass window unit for the living/dining/kitchen and OMGHELLYES. The new house has central air, so we're leaving the window units in for the buyer, if they want them.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

See, I assume that the climate of NYC is, in general, a lot like Cincinnati (I was in NYC for the 4th of July where half the damn city got heatstroke, so you can't fool me), so I am always blown away at people not having a/c. Although people here don't have it, too, so really I've just sold my soul to central air. Happily.
