Strix! I've been meaning to contact you for an age in an appropriate way, but I keep forgetting, so I'm putting this here so you (and dozens of Buffistas) know I need to email or FB you. I was having dinner with a cousin and talking about how badly she needs to get away from her seriously toxic boss and told her if she needed someone to proof her resume to send it to me, and she said she needed someone to write it (long story short, through takeovers & buyouts & whatnot, she hasn't had to look for a job in like twenty or so years, so no resume). And I said, "Well, I do know someone who comes highly recommended..." So, anyway, I need your official contact info, or should I send her your FB page or...? Thanks!

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
An hour and fifteen minutes to go!
Timeshare is submitted and work laptop is closed!!!
Jack and I have been to the groomers to get him a quick pedicure, to Ace Hardware to get a kiddie pool, and then drove home with the top down. He is so shy. Not to the point of avoiding people or things, just very hesitant but immediately responsive to positive reinforcement.
He sounds sweet.
Now that I have fortified myself with leftovers for lunch and an unexpected but satisfying nap, I'm having my banana split for dinner. Delicious.
Epic, you can email me at wordslingeuse at gmail.com or send along the addy.
Gud, I lived in Lawrence when I first got onto Buffistas on Salon1 I totally know Mass Street! Yay for you!
M gets here on the 7th, so we are super-excited and have a fun month ahead of us till the 31st. It's his first time at the new house, and so we're getting the stuff we were (ahem) ignoring after moving to 3 houses in a month, but things are shaping up nicely.
I ordered this dress [link] and had it express shipped so it would get here before Vegas, and it got here today, and it fits perfectly. So wonderfully purple! And swishy skirt! I'm now thinking of buying the blue one. And the red one. Probably not the black one. Probably.
That is a great Vegas vacation dress! And summer dress in general.
Pretty, Connie!
Yay for summer vacations! Have a great time, Connie, in your new dress!
I'm mildly envious of you all who get actual summer weather. We had a couple of warm days, and then the temperature dropped again. Me, I wore a shawl at my desk all day.
Anyway, tomorrow is my regular day off, but since it's also a paid holiday, I get to take the paid holiday next week some time. Coolness! And I get to spend time with my nephews, because my brother's family is coming to town for the weekend.
JZ--I will just say that the only emotion I felt at my mother's death was relief. She spent the last five years of her life being miserable and making everyone around her miserable, and then it was over. And I couldn't even grieve. I still haven't, really. I try not to feel bad about not feeling bad: I figure that'll come, with time. (That or I'm emotionally broken, which I hope is not the case...)
Or you handled your grieving along the way, which seems like the most likely.
