You'd never make it. I'd rip your spine out before you got half a step. Those little legs wouldn't be much good without one of those.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Stopping military gear manufacturers from *giving* body armor and artillery to civic police departments (in order to keep their production levels up for tax reasons) would also help. If you don't have tanks and body armor, you're not going to be so eager to provoke or escalate circumstances where you can use them. Conversely, having them on hand sort of makes it inevitable you'll egg a situation on so that you will have a chance to use the new toys. Because wow, video game, and tough macho!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, those pictures of 60s protests vs. recent ones were most notable to me for the gear of the cops now.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

If he's being so obvious about it, maybe he wanted you to find them?

This is my thought. Maybe subconsciously, but still.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I can't help but think that the police wants there to be a riot, and is helping to incite one.
That does appear to be the pattern with these things. Good on the prosecutor though.

See also the decision to announce the non-indictment in Ferguson until sundown.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I wonder if things with prosecutor would have gone down like this if he was a city police officer and not a university police officer.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was wondering the same thing, msbelle, but I'm trying not to dwell on it.

Ugh, my sutures are, I presume, dissolving like they are supposed to but not all at once so I have strands of suture suddenly floating loose in my mouth at random intervals. Gross.

Since I'm into links, there is a listing of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. Some of the deaths are gunfire or vehicle pursuit, but many are health-related or accidents. Based on a casual review, it doesn't look to me like the mean streets are THAT mean. I'm not really seeing what's so scary that so many seem to feel the need to shoot first and ask questions later.

I remember that experience! It is super gross.

I understand that a routine traffic stop can turn deadly, and that must be pretty scary, but shooting people who are not threatening you is not going to make ANYONE safer.
