Did the shelves ever arrive, 'suela?
NO. In fact I called the shipping company again today and after a while they called me back and reported that they have NO IDEA where my shelves are. This is a package that weighs 150lbs! And they don't know if it ever left their loading dock or what. Apparently it was supposed to go out for delivery by a subcontractor, but I begin to believe these guys just dumped my shelves on the side of the road.
Lesson learned: never order anything from Home Depot.
My brother says to put food-grade iodine (it's not red, I guess) in the neti pot and it helps with sinus infections. I'm dubious about that, though.
Yeah, I wouldn't do that: when you make your own stuff for nasal irrigation, you're supposed to use iodine-free salt. So I don't think adding iodine is a great idea.
According to NPR, the first week of May here was the cloudiest on record, so if it felt dark and unrelenting, it was.
Yesterday I sat out on the patio, and also killed some vines, so I'm feeling much better.
Shit, one of my tires is going flat. I guess there's a field trip of indeterminate length to the tire place down the street today.
sarameg, fyi, on the radio this morning they said it was 15 days of rain. sigh ... and my joints hurt too. I'm taking Claritin and using Flonase, so at least I'm not suffering the snotmonster, but I'm really, really tired of rain. And my towels never seem to dry.
There hasn't been a wetter spring since I moved here to Virginia, I don't think. Personally I love it, but I know it drives normal humans crazy.
It's beautiful here!! I kind of thought we'd never see the sun again.
It's been a fairly rainy spring here, which has been nice for my gardening efforts. The more the sky waters things, the less I have to.
It's pretty out today here, too. Maybe shading into hot later on, we'll see.
I have had such a relaxing morning so far! Didn't get out of bed until 6, had time to putter around before I had to leave for work and still got here a little early, did not even have trouble parking. This is the life.
