Zenni is crazy inexpensive. So, depending on your prescription, you could be all set for under $40. I've bought many pairs from them, with progressive lenses, and the most expensive were about $100. Of all the ones I've bought for both me and K-Bug, I only had one pair that fit oddly. Not unwearable, but I noticed I was adjusting them on my face more often than usual.

Ooh, I like all of those, Burrell.

I hope the thyroid adjustments help, Suzi. Also, I'm surprised you don't have a hematologist in your stable, as it were, considering your history.

Trying to do the thing, CANNOT DO THE THING.

Zhu Li would have done the thing anyway.

Sigh indeed, Toddson. Good luck with all that.

I am losing my grip on exactly what my duties/responsibilities/tasks are. I should probably do something about that. Probably not today, been one thing after the other in the way of urgent tasks needing my immediate attention.

Spoke to my boss about changing my schedule to starting later in the day, because my central time peeps hardly ever want to talk to me anyway. I feel like it might be an improvement. Especially in wintertime.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Need to schedule my yearly eye exam. Have to co-ordinate with Gary's schedule, so I don't choose a day he can't pick up the little guy at daycare. (I usually try to schedule the eye exam for as late in the day as possible so I can go directly home after. I don't feel comfortable driving with the little guy on board is my eyes are dilated.)

-t, my insurance changed and I need referrals for everything. I'd like to find a new one closer to where I live.

Oh, that makes sense. Closer to your house would definitely be a good thing.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm not sure whether to laugh or sigh (or both) at this student evaluation comment. I pretty much got the usual mix of comments that I get from freshman classes -- one or two about how I'm the worst teacher ever and should be fired, a few saying that I'm great, and the vast majority along the lines of, "For a math class, it was OK." And then there's this. WebAssign is the online homework system we use. (The way it's set up, which was not my decision, is that, if they get a question wrong, then it doesn't tell them the right answer immediately, but if they look at the assignment again after the due date, then it will tell them the answer, and often have a link to an explanation. I wanted them to be able to see the answer immediately, but I was overruled, and it had to be set up the same way for all the instructors.)

Whoever decided that webassign would be used is a complete moron, or a genius so good at math they think everyone else can learn with ZERO feedback. Again what the fuck? If i can read math theory and then blindly try to solve problems and get zero feedback in my free time who in the hell do you people justify charging me for a fucking class where a computer does most of the work for you? If I can't see where I messed up then I have no idea how to improve my grade as a student. It's like the blind leading the blind if you ask me, and given how much I pay to go here that is fucking bullshit. So maybe the next time I get a 50% on a homework someone could explain how to solve the problems. Also if I have to show my work on a test, why doesn't the asshat who grades have to show their fucking work on how they got the answer?! I loved math in grade school, you know when the teacher actually showed you how to learn math.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Also if I have to show my work on a test, why doesn't the asshat who grades have to show their fucking work on how they got the answer?!

Yeah, Hil, what's up with all those degrees you got and those paychecks they give you? Totally unfair.

Oy, Hil.

I'm so tired and hungry right now. A salesperson called 5 minutes before I was supposed to leave with good news for one of my accounts but which required me to do some updates so I din't end up leaving for another hour and a half. Well, required is strong, but due to the quirks of our reporting system it's just way better that those got done today rather than tomorrow morning. On the bright side, I start my new schedule tomorrow, so I don't have to be in until 8:30! Quite a change. And there was literally no one else apparent in my office when I left today at 5, except the people who come in after hours and clean, so I think I'll be leaving on time if not early pretty much all the time.
