Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Well heck, just heard from the doctor's office. My thyroid is "sluggish" so I'm just to add an 1/2 dose twice a week. My B12 and D are also low, so slight changes to the frequency of my B12 shots and a new Vitamin D prescription. But my iron is bang on normal.
Yes, slight adjustments to make, but I don't see how these changes are enough to counter my exhaustion. If I don't feel better in a couple of weeks, I'm going to ask for a referral to a hematologist.
I have been shopping for glasses, quelle surprise! Okay so here are my current thoughts. Well, first thought is that I have a tiny head and face, so don't laugh at me but several options are from the kids section.
Maybe boring but hard to go wrong: link
Like these in the misnamed "green" color: link
These don't even look like kids glasses, right?: link
These do, but I like them anyway: link
Suzi, a wacky thyroid makes you feel like wrung out crap, no joke, same with vitamin D. So I hope the tiny adjustments help.
I like the last one, Burrell, and I don't think they look like kid's glasses. That touch of blue is subtle and very fetching.
I'm not sure why I'm not a character in a Jennifer Crusie book!
You don't live in central or southern Ohio?
If this is like the "Sunshine Dollars" penalty I pay for living in San Diego, I did not sign off!
I like the third one, Burrell, but I like most anything with a subtle floral pattern, so you can't go by me. They are super-cute, though; I'd consider them for myself but I have an enormous head and those aren't even big enough for my pd.
When they ask you to do a thing, but you don't have the data for the thing, so you ask for the data. Then they give you the data, but some of the data throws up an error and you let them know and even propose a solution, but no one gets back to you.
Trying to do the thing, CANNOT DO THE THING.
And Scrappy and Epic confirm my impression that the two pairs of kids glasses are actually cuter than the adult pairs. I am tempted by both of them but wasn't necessarily planning on getting two pairs right now.
Also how does Zenni work? I assume the price listed is just the frames, right? The lenses have to be more than that.
My work ... sigh ... I work for an association and we have an outside vendor that runs an online bookstore for us. One of our hot items is a series of downloadable documents. The vendor decided, for some reason, to redesign and reorganize the bookstore site. They told us about it well in advance but gave us virtually no time to review and comment on the redone site. And picked a time when practically everyone was out of the office to launch and insist we immediately review and comment on the new site. The changes resulted in my receiving an indignant email from someone who was working from information about the old site. I've straightened it out and hope that all will be well.
The problem is that other people have been sending out information about the bookstore site with the old information. I sent around the new information - to staff only - in the hope that people will give out that information instead of the old.
The result is that this has all blown up into a huge kerfuffle and I'm in trouble for having sent the information around. Not sure exactly why, but my boss is unhappy and wants to have a meeting to discuss.
Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.
Zenni is crazy inexpensive. So, depending on your prescription, you could be all set for under $40. I've bought many pairs from them, with progressive lenses, and the most expensive were about $100. Of all the ones I've bought for both me and K-Bug, I only had one pair that fit oddly. Not unwearable, but I noticed I was adjusting them on my face more often than usual.
Ooh, I like all of those, Burrell.
I hope the thyroid adjustments help, Suzi. Also, I'm surprised you don't have a hematologist in your stable, as it were, considering your history.
Trying to do the thing, CANNOT DO THE THING.
Zhu Li would have done the thing anyway.
Sigh indeed, Toddson. Good luck with all that.
I am losing my grip on exactly what my duties/responsibilities/tasks are. I should probably do something about that. Probably not today, been one thing after the other in the way of urgent tasks needing my immediate attention.
Spoke to my boss about changing my schedule to starting later in the day, because my central time peeps hardly ever want to talk to me anyway. I feel like it might be an improvement. Especially in wintertime.
