County Extension Service for an arborist? They're generally bored and eager to talk to the locals about plants.
Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I had a walk-in closet as a kid - the room my sister and I shared had one. It was great, even shared. I feel like I must have had a pantry somewhere, but I have lived so many places, I'm not sure. Maybe I just stayed with someone who had one? I am pretty sure my grandmother had one and it was terrific.
I think I just got a cat. My great grand boss has a friend whose partner's dog chases her 3-year-old cat, so cat needs a home and I am a sucker especially when it comes to calicos. I am hoping the adult cat will not piss of my elderly cats as much as a new kitten would.
A walk-in closet would be a dream.
Yay calico cat!
My apartment is pretty old-school, so all the closets are small, but there is great built-in storage around three sides of what I think is the practical chimney (not connected to the fireplace).
We have a pantry, and it's wonderful. At first glance, the kitchen looks like it has adequate cabinets, but in spite of ruthless culling when we moved, there's no cupboard space for food-so, yay, pantry! Also, infrequently used (but often enough to keep) appliances and oversized bowls and stock pots.
Jesse, I could use some of your wall space. I'm constantly threatening to build another room, just for more space to hang stuff.
Lucky you -t, I love calico cats!
I tried that. All I got was this green dude and I think he was inappropriate with the local deer.
Heh.
Such good suggestions here, Zen.
I have had great conversations with DC's chief arborist, so I'm partial to the idea of checking with the city.
That person is likely to have local history under their belt in terms of the varieties that dwell best in your region.
I'm envious of the pantry talk. It's probably better that I don't have one though, given the ease of expanding to fit more cupboards!
I have often felt that I would end up with -t's home for wayward calicos. Jadzia is a muted tabby calico and Pixie is mostly white with just a bit of brown and black on her ears and tail. I do guard against the tendency some, but I'm not made of stone. And Miss Kitty is fluffy!
Uh oh, she's declawed. I have pet doors that my current cats can go in and out of at will, I guess that might be a problem? A solvable problem? Hm.
I fell asleep as I was working this morning. I was chugging along for one of my projects and next thing I knew, CJ was waking me up to take him to work. I thought I had a good night's sleep last night. I still feel like I could zonk out if I just closed my eyes.
