>At this point I'm just looking forward to going to sleep tonight, unfortunately I'll have to wake up.
Gud, this sentences terrifies me. You should not feel this way, and I think you do really need to seek some help- maybe starting with your PCP or your employee assisstance program, if you do not feel you have the energy to find a counselor?
Gud, the way you are being treated is abusive. You deserve better. You deserve to be treated with kindness and consideration.
Gud - I hope you will look for counseling.
ION - this is the mother of one of mac's friends. ugh. [link]
I'm sorry, but that's hilarious. Uncle Si is the best one, isn't he?
I don't know, I've never seen the show.
NONE of the candidates for city council or mayor in my town mention a political party. I assume it is because everyone is Republican. I hate it here.
Local elections are often nonpartisan, aren't they? At least our are here.
Even if there weren't dozens of people here who could reassure you that you're a kind, thoughtful, and conscientious person, actual assholes don't worry (or care) about whether or not that's an accurate description of them. The problem is not with you.
I can't say it better than Matt. Take care of yourself, Gud. You are way too hard on yourself.

Yes. I still recall one election or primary where my roommate and I went through our ballots and the voter guide and for at least half the things, couldn't tell who to vote for. So we generally decided to vote for the woman, or the minority, and in the one race where there were only white men, the guy who'd been in the Peace Corps (as had my roommate). To be fair, though, this being Seattle they were mostly all pretty liberal to start with.
Well. One of my coworkers is going to be out the next 3-5 months due to back surgery. I'm one of his backups. This doesn't bode well. (He's got alignment issues in the lumbar and two herniated discs pressing on nerves, so I'm glad he's getting fixed, but damn.)
