Local elections are often nonpartisan, aren't they? At least our are here.
Yes. I still recall one election or primary where my roommate and I went through our ballots and the voter guide and for at least half the things, couldn't tell who to vote for. So we generally decided to vote for the woman, or the minority, and in the one race where there were only white men, the guy who'd been in the Peace Corps (as had my roommate). To be fair, though, this being Seattle they were mostly all pretty liberal to start with.
Well. One of my coworkers is going to be out the next 3-5 months due to back surgery. I'm one of his backups. This doesn't bode well. (He's got alignment issues in the lumbar and two herniated discs pressing on nerves, so I'm glad he's getting fixed, but damn.)
At least you know ahead of time? Maybe?
A while back, when I was on a small project team, our admin went on a long vacation to India and her backup ended up having emergency surgery and was out six weeks. I wasn't either of their backup and yet...
May he have a swift recovery and be out of pain quickly.
Yeah, I'm glad he's getting fixed, this hit at Easter. But I'm already overcommitted, so.
I agree with counseling for yourself, Gud. Jesse is right, you need to hear from someone that there is nothing wrong with you.
And now I'm on neurotic doggy duty for the next 4 days. Which I really don't have time for, but it's an emergency. Ah, life.
Gud, what everyone else has said. You are not what she says you are. She is manipulating you into feeling this way. Please, please get counseling. This is not healthy, and this is not what either of you should be modeling for your kids. They are definitely perceptive enough to have picked up on all of this. I'm truly starting to worry about you.
Gah, sarameg. That's a bunch of don't wanna rolled up into one.
I hope things even out soon. Happy home-adversary to you and Suzi today!
Wow Rebecca, that's the mom of one of mac's friends? I guess you aren't besties then, are you?Makes me very grateful for the parents of my kids' friends, most of them are my people.
Favorite thing on that page btw was a bit further down. Here's the caption/grabber under Ted Cruz's photo:
Ted Cruz is just one candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. President in a field that includes a tycoon and a neurosurgeon in addition to governors and congressmen. These candidates have a lot in common, but a lot MORE that separates them. Find out where [candidate surname] stands on immigration reform, combating ISIS, raising the minimum wage and the legality of gay marriage.
And here's the one for Hillary Clinton:

I just found out that my cousin is going to be on an episode of Transparent. Cool! Now I've got to get caught up on that show.
