this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I think my neighbors were a bit taken aback when I cranked up "Sexy Motherfucker." (Partly because it wasn't the Hamilton soundtrack.) But, come on. Gotta play it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

His latest tour was such an exciting creative development, too. I'm gonna stay in Denial for a while, I think.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Jesus Christ, you guys.

I was never a big fan, so it doesn't hurt me, but I hate seeing it make everyone else hurt.

Yeah, same here. And it totally makes me think of ita. Goddammit.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

This with Bowie is too much this year. Prince was a lot of college sex. Graffiti Bridge in a theater and that was not a good movie. Someone took my liner notes from that CD, I might still be mad.

I probably have more Bowie albums in my collection than any other artist. Prince is probably 4th or 5th. Just a huge chunk of my music. No sense.

Prince has been a musical constant my whole life, from the time I was really aware of music as something I might have my own preferences for (vs. my mom's Barbara Streisand and my dad's country music, which were always on the stereo). Michael Jackson's death was shocking and sad, yet not that surprising. Bowie's death was rough, but his music wasn't as much a part of my life (and certainly not my formative years) as Prince's music was. (I feel like maybe an 11-year-old should NOT have owned some of those albums.)

And he was too damn young.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

This sounds stupid, but y'all are going to have to help me when Sondheim dies. And he's 86.
