On the posts from a while ago about campus cops in DC: during the time I was at GW, there was an incident where an undergrad was trying to get into the campus gym, but didn't have her campus ID with her. The people at the front desk told her she couldn't get in without her ID. She pleaded a bit, then left and snuck in. The front desk people saw her on the elliptical and told her to leave, and she refused. After a bit of argument, the front desk people (who were just undergrads with work-study jobs) told her she was trespassing and they'd call the campus police. She basically said, go ahead. So they did. Police came, told her she had to leave the gym, and she still refused. After some more argument with the police, and her still refusing to leave the gym, they evidently got fed up and arrested her. Since campus cops there are real cops, they brought her down to the regular DC lockup, and she had to call her parents to get someone to bail her out.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Hil, I was afraid for a second that story was going to have a much worse ending!!
Nah. I remember an editorial in the campus paper, something like, "Is being a spoiled brat really a crime?"
I just ordered a tai chi video from Amazon. I'm not doing the yoga like I thought I would, so maybe just some simple movement will help. I've got to get more flexible and strengthen my joints.
I love tai chi, Connie. I hope you enjoy it.
Good luck conquering the paramecia, Bev! 6 years does seem like long enough to wait for the problem to fix itself.
Yay other people being available to help with stuff!
Heh. Turns out a bonus to living on pudding, shakes and soup-full-of-cheese is that my calcium intake is finally up where my phone thinks it should be. No way I am meeting my fiber goals, though.
People should not use my cell for emergencies when I'm not traveling. I'm not trustworthy with it. Neighbor took her husband to ER, parked kids with other neighbor, but forgot to bring dogs in & lock up. Luckily, sent me a fb txt too, once they got to the ER. So all bases covered, but I feel badly. And am worried about Erik.
I'm glad they were able to reach you, sarameg, and I hope he's okay.
I bought OUT! for the feline reek & once I pritzed it twice, it worked very well.
Kids are having a grand time with other kids their age, but I may be taking them home and putting to bed & waiting for mom to come home. Except he's only getting X-rays now and given it sound like intestinal blockage, he's going to be admitted, so...
Sounds like you are all in for a long night, sarameg. You're good peeps.
