Today I discovered that I made a nearly $12,000 mistake at work, but at least there wasn't a dead guy.

Yipes, Kat! That is very disturbing, and kind of heartbreaking. Homeless?
Burrell, I don't know. IT was outside of a charter school. Three people were congregated around the body, one was nudging the guy with his foot and there was no response. I was watching his chest to see if he was breathing (from the car - we were stopped at a light) and it didn't appear that he was. So I called 911. They seemed to find it weird that I didn't stick around at the location.
Definitely heartbreaking.
$12,000 mistakes are pretty scary.
I called in a body once when I was a kid, but it turned out not to be a body, but a guy sleeping in the woods (it was along our seekrit path between the church and the mall, not that I have any experience about walking to the mall when I was supposed to be at church, no not at all, I don't know what you're talking about) and they just made him move along, which I then felt bad for. But he looked dead, and we couldn't see him breathing, and didn't investigate any further.
ANYWAY! I have triumphed over turbotax and my taxes are filed. The original problem both persists and is baffling, but she's going to call me later this week to work it out. But taxes are filed, all is well with the universe, no one had to die in the end.
And then I was so euphoric that I went on to file my FAFSA and renew my vehicle registration. It's been a day.
Damn, that's a lot of adulting. You must be at least, like, 23.
Holy shit, yes. Old enough to have this whiskey, I'll tell you what.
Yeesh Kat. I don't blame you for not sticking around. A friend of mine witnessed a murder from very far away, like from a freeway overpass or something, and called it in. And it became a horrible thing weighing over her for the next three years as the case slowly wound its way through the court system.
Take home message: don't become a state's witness, the state will make your life miserable
Yay adulting Liese!
I adulted but I don't like the results: actually made a doctors appointment for the foot pain, and when I called at 2:30pm the lady was like "well, the next appointment is....uh, at 5pm today?" So bam. And now I have a boot on my foot and instructions to not run for a month. :( I'm supposed to look into aqua jogging. This sucks because not only had I already paid for the training group, and the race ( about $200 between those, plus the new water carrier and sunglasses and...) but I also can't DANCE. And I'm going to gain weight. Grr.
So I started backing up my department's important files on my desktop at the end of the day, just in case horrific shit happened. It saved our asses more than once.
Apropos of nothing, I would now love to see someone open an antique shop by the name of "Ye Olde Horrifick Shitte".
Or rename Trump's website.
