My problem has been that even when the company picks up the cost of internet, fancy hotel internet is not especially fast or reliable.

This too. My employer always pays for "enhanced" wifi, but most of the time 4G on my phone is faster.
That is the key part of all of it. For the big hotel chains their business model is built around clients where a company is paying the charges, not an individual.
True. Which I guess explains the lack of minibars, except I'd be happy to pay for my own stupid $11 tiny Chablis. (What? I like minibars.)

It really isn't. They never seem to provide enough bandwidth to accommodate all the conference people who are jumping on it all at the same time.
And let me tell you, the cost of providing wireless in a conference space is a huge racket. The hotel makes such bank on that.
They could do a better job of it, then! Our IT guys are there struggling to manage the connection every time.
Access to the wifi was part of the casino's Resort Fee, which covered the pool and spa and all that. And the spa had additional fees. But I understand that in Vegas, they're after every dollar, so I don't begrudge them. I just don't use anything else that requires a fee.
OK, ran the dog, did some laundry, did some dog training with my sister in the park. Now I gotta go measure the garage and see if Home Depot has some kind of racks I can install.
It's apparently the time of year when my gate doesn't want to close (it certainly seems to be seasonal, for whatever reason), which I found out when my neighbor called to tell me he had my dog. Hooray for ID tags with my phone number on Walter's collar!
My son is 9 and goes to the bathroom by himself in public, but it hasn't been a super long time - 2 years, max.
Sounds about right. When he was around 6 my son started wanting to use the men's room all the time, except he often felt nervous going in there by himself so he wanted me to come too. Er.... so we usually tried to find a family restroom, or he came into the women's, or he sucked it up and went into the men's. It wasn't until he was 7 that he felt comfortable going in by himself.
