Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, y'all, I have to tell this to people who will understand. My one coworker today wanted to tell me about this amazing and bizarre book he's read recently, he thinks it's being made into a TV series: American Gods. It was so cute.

He has no idea the depth of the rabbit hole he might stumble into talking Neil Gaiman with me. I was gentle.

Songs I sing when I can't find my phone (related to songs I sing to my cats as discussed a while back, I feel):

"Where is my phone, my noggy noggy [sometimes "goddamn fucking phone", as it fits the meter and is how a band I used to see sang All For Me Grog] phone? It's all gone to beer and tobacco." etc.

"Where did I put my phone, where did I put that phone. Isn't it a nobby one and just the proper tone? I wish that I could find one just the same as that"...trails off into muttering.

I have checked in for the State Convention. Man, it is going to be crazy tomorrow. Now I'm just hoping the snow predictions are overblown.

Good luck, Suzi!

I just went dancing. I wasn't feeling it but threw on my Chucks to tell myself I didn't have to dance. And then there were apparently two different ladies who decided to have birthday parties! But mostly couples. But still. Danced more than I should have, since my foot is still hurting a bit.

And I spent most of the afternoon putting pictures from the Chile trip online...on Flickr so I could give the link to my parents. Because I don't want them on Facebook.

The street band that set up shop in front of the now-vacant storefront next door is still playing LOUDLY at 1 am. If the faucet hose to my sink could reach the window, it would be Go Time.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Matt, that's call the police time.

meara, looking forward to pictures of Chile trip!

Last night at TJ's the woman checking me out saw my Game of Thrones t-shirt and said, "Is Game of Thrones a board game?" I said no, it's a tv show, and she kept chatting about how she liked board games, so I repeated it. She blinked at me and said, "Oh, it's a tv show? Is it popular?" I said yes, it's pretty popular. She said, "Oh. Oh well then. Good night!" I guess I should've invited her to the board game club, but I was too surprised to think of it. I know there are people who don't watch tv, but it's odd to me that a person can be so insulated from popular culture that they aren't aware of a very popular tv show. But then again, there are a lot of things I'm unaware of -- teen idols, for one, I wouldn't be aware of the Black Veil Brides if not for my faux-niece, and I've recently learned there are YouTube stars and I didn't even know it was possible to BE a YouTube star, so I guess it depends on where your world is focused. Still.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

For what it's worth, Game of Thrones is now a board game too: [link]

Luckily the noisemakers closed up about 10 minutes after I posted last night.

Today I'm going to the Roots Music Festival. Should be several hours of enjoyable Rockabilly and Bluegrass before the Country band drives me from the park.

UGH! My breakfast just exploded. I was going to make pancakes, but the bisquick bottle popped open and poured out when I tapped the bottom to mix the dry cornmeal (after I took special care to tighten the lid!). Oh well, I guess it's the universe's way of telling me I didn't need a filling breakfast.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

it's odd to me that a person can be so insulated from popular culture that they aren't aware of a very popular tv show.

We were out last night, and a friend of a friend (we've met this guy twice, I think) said that he's never seen a movie. Any movie. I can't decide if he was exaggerating, or if he really didn't even see Disney stuff as a kid. (I didn't ask, because he's a bloviator and I really didn't want to get him going.)

I also learned last night that Stella Artois' cider is REALLY good.
