I continue to be unimpressed with our school district. The highschool counsellors came and met with the 9th graders (still on Jr high building in our district) and gave them class schedules to fill out for 10th grade. Those are supposed to get signed by parents and brought back the next week when the counsellors come back to meet again. I never saw this paper so I called the school.
1. If the papers cone back unsigned, THEY DO NOT CONTACT THE PARENTS!!!
2. Mac was out sick the day they did these, so he was never given the paper AND TGEY ALSO DID NOT CALL.
So, I am meeting with her myself Thursday morning. We will have a good long talk.
JFC horrible system.
Built to fail says the cynic in me
No problem for the parents that have kids who are engaged and responsible and driven. And no problem for the disengaged kid whose parents do not care, but a goddamn mess for the rest of us.
I'm having a dinner conundrum. I'm making something like this:

But with white beans instead of lentils. But I can't figure out what to make with it to so that it's an actual meal! Ideas?
Yeah, I'm thinking I'm going to have leave the house to get an unfrozen protein to add.
I think that salad with a bunch of greens and maybe a fruit salad would be a great meal.
I would say greens and bread and butter or bread and olive oil.
I'll routinely drive those distances. Would do the tx in drive in a day, but probably won't have to, even though I am making that drive this summer, probably, I consider five hours, or about 350 miles a solid driving shift. Because I have to refill my gas tank at that point. Imagine how I'd be f I weren't driving an suv.
Perception of distance is weird. When I was growing up in Pennsylvania, a trip of 20 miles was something you planned for. A trip of 60 miles was an adventure. Town and the grocery store was seven miles away and not a drive you'd just do if you're bored.
Now my one-way commute is 20 miles, and when I trusted my car/traffic more, 60 miles only warranted a "Do I want to be on the road for an hour in this traffic? I'd better get a drink for the ride."
