Another example of complaining makes it happen, the district office just called. Here's the fun.
Credit recovery classes run on a trimester schedule for the summer, 2 weeks each. Credit advancement classes run on a semester schedule, 3 weeks each. If he fails a state standardized test that is YET a different schedule.
AND registration is in person only, on a weekday, the day before classes start!!!! So you will not even know if a class makes or not until the day school is to start in some cases. JFC horrible system.
Wow, that's impressively byzantine. Borges and Kafka would appreciate.
I love it when I fill up my pillbox for the week and then leave it at home. So efficient.
Weird. I am listening to the Previously.tv podcast right now! And my very favorite podcast is Pop Culture Happy Hour, with Linda Holmes. So I still have a lot of TWOP in my life.
It's weird how the home page says it's back, but there's not actually anything else there.
But I got to see EpicTangent! Twice! Mini F2F FTW! Good company over good food, there's nothing better.
And I got see ZenKitty! Twice! Excellent good times!
Been trying to catch up for a couple days, so no meara, but I have been sending vibes and good thoughts as needed.
Connie, sounds like you showed remarkable restraint.
Good luck with setting up summer school, msbelle. Seems like you're the one being punished.
I continue to be unimpressed with our school district. The highschool counsellors came and met with the 9th graders (still on Jr high building in our district) and gave them class schedules to fill out for 10th grade. Those are supposed to get signed by parents and brought back the next week when the counsellors come back to meet again. I never saw this paper so I called the school.
1. If the papers cone back unsigned, THEY DO NOT CONTACT THE PARENTS!!!
2. Mac was out sick the day they did these, so he was never given the paper AND TGEY ALSO DID NOT CALL.
So, I am meeting with her myself Thursday morning. We will have a good long talk.
JFC horrible system.
Built to fail says the cynic in me
No problem for the parents that have kids who are engaged and responsible and driven. And no problem for the disengaged kid whose parents do not care, but a goddamn mess for the rest of us.
