Is anyone else watching The Family? The last episode was amazing... like Out Of Gas level storytelling.

I am. I am really enjoying it, even though I don't much like any of the characters.

I didn't know Hokie was so young, somehow. Such an eternal fixture. Been a rough week, no doubt about it. I wore my New Orleans hat on Sunday and was kind of surprised when I got home to realize that no one had commented on it at all - Will Smith was looming so large in my mind I figured he must be on everyone else's radar, too.

I hate when I mismanage my food/meetings. I had an 11 and a 12 on the calendar, so I had a snack, but my 11 was real short, so I could theoretically eat lunch before the noon meeting, but now I don't want to because of the snack! I guess it will be OK even if I feel hungry during a meeting. I guess that's a thing that people do live through.

My customer was bitching through the call about having to pay the fee to talk to a person to fix an update issue instead of using the free chat support, which he doesn't like. Lots of stuff about "You've got a great racket going" and the like. At the end, I fixed it despite his disbelief that it could be done and I assured him that if other people in the office have the same issue they can call in with the same case number without an added charge. "Hey, thanks, you fixed this with patience and kindness, that makes it not so bad that my son won't be able to eat next week."

I did not say "Sir, have you looked into food banks? If your budget is so tight that a call to tech support keeps you from eating, I think there are government agencies that can help."

I'm gonna take a stand against harem shorts. I don't know when or why the became a thing, but I am against them.

We are less than a month and a half away from the end of the school year and there is ZERO information about summer school on the district website. Not what necessitates it, not if you can voluntarily take courses to knock out requirements, not dates, not locations. ZIP ZILCH NADA.

The next district over started taking applications for summer school March 29th. They have multiple sites with info, full course listing, dates, times for each class, which classes are for credit recovery and which are for initial credit.

Another example of complaining makes it happen, the district office just called. Here's the fun.

Credit recovery classes run on a trimester schedule for the summer, 2 weeks each. Credit advancement classes run on a semester schedule, 3 weeks each. If he fails a state standardized test that is YET a different schedule.

AND registration is in person only, on a weekday, the day before classes start!!!! So you will not even know if a class makes or not until the day school is to start in some cases. JFC horrible system.
