Yeah, since when are campus cops armed?
On an urban campus like UC's, I'm not surprised they're armed.
Since when do they have any sort of jurisdiction off campus?
That's what I don't get -- and pulling someone over for not having a goddamn front license plate??? Yes, in Ohio you have to have the front plate, but an actual city or state police officer should pull drivers over for that. Why is a UC cop pulling someone over for a missing plate?
I hope they nail that cop to the wall.
It sounds like the body cam footage is pretty damning for the cop. If that's true, I want to say I expect the grand jury to indict him, but then I think about Darren Wilson in Ferguson, and maybe not.
The whole food conversation inspired me to come home and make my junky version of a taco salad, ground beef cooked with onions and salsa, cheese, & whatever veg in the fridge, plus corn chips.
I chose Cloudburst because I liked it best out of the options and I'm rapidly losing the ability to make decisions today. The enormity of my To Do list is making me flip out like a mammal. It's nice to have these distractions right now because I can ignore the news completely.
OK, 8 hours was too much of a commitment today. I'll stick it out, but these last couple of hours are haaaard.

That seems like the best reason?
I was wrong, I do have a casserole dish. It's part of the huge set of Pyrex my sister gave me last Christmas (which I haven't unpacked yet) because hope springs eternal, I guess. Thanks anyway though, -t! Some good stuff on that site.
Oh, good. It would've been cheap to buy but possibly pricey to ship, those things can get heavy.
I saw something about that case. The campus cop part was what struck me. I didn't know campus police carried weapons, for one
It's a huge problem. I remember from when I lived in DC there are something like 27 different bodies with arrest authority, including various campus and housing authority "police". DC is probably at the far end but it goes on all over.
Think about that when you think about the already sorry state of training and professionalism that is becoming apparent of late. (Or was always apparent and is not becoming recognized.
Oh, Steph, that's...terrifying? Disturbing? Sad?
Oh yeah, DC is over the top on the number of different types of cops!
