W.T.F. What is the point of having video cameras on the officers if the footage isn't allowed to be seen? It should be illegal for them to refuse to release it. Maybe not make it public, at least not before sentencing, but release it to the jury, release it to the lawyers and the judge.

Samuel Dubose was pulled over by a University of Cincinnati cop -- not even a city cop -- OFF CAMPUS, for missing a front license plate. And the campus cop fucking shot Dubose in the head while he sat in his car.

And the county prosecutor refuses to release the tape, because it's going to be really really ugly.

And I just read on Twitter than Dubose's family has hired George Zimmerman's defense attorney. Embrace the fucking irony. And yet, that tells me that this may turn into a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

One of the things I am thinking of putting up on eBay is something similar to what cult musician Emilie Autumn did. She sold her iPod. I'm thinking of selling my 1st gen Shuffle. The county prosecutor says he'll release it after the grand jury rules. But Dubose's family hasn't even been allowed to see it. Why? I have to believe it's because it's going to show that the officer had zero justification for shooting Dubose.

And the thing is, this was a University of Cincinnati campus cop. The president of UC should legally be able to release that footage, but apparently the prosecutor has come down REALLY hard on the president and gotten him to sit on the footage.

I have such a bad feeling about this.

For real. Dubose didn't even have a weapon of any kind in the car. What I've been reading on FB is that the officer tried to open Dubose's car door, and Dubose shut it. And the officer tried to open it again, and Dubose pulled it shut, and the officer fell to the ground and shot Dubose in the head.

FOR NOT HAVING A FRONT LICENSE PLATE.
