What engineers do you edit for, Epic? I'm about to come over there and sit down with you. My guys are generally okay, though, except for the inevitable few loons, it's my wack department and vendors I have to wrestle with.
The company is in "turbine engine controls", so I have mechanical, electrical, and software engineers submitting user manuals, tech reports, procedures, etc.
Technically
I'm Configuration Control, rather than a Tech Writer or editor. The person who had my job before me just processed the docs, but I can't release them without proofing them first, so the job has morphed to include my particular skill set (and I think they may have gotten a bit lazier about proofing their own work, since they know I'll catch their errors). The engineers, like I said, are usually good about my corrections; but there's a couple in the Quality Dept and one in Trade Compliance that I'd like to commit some minor violence on.
I have to make this ridiculous complaint somewhere. My cube-neighbor across the way drinks through a straw and it kind of bubbles, which is fine but it sounds exactly like someone using a bong and that's very distracting. #misspentyouth

Y'all all need to talk more
Talk less, smile more.
Ummm, ok, so work is about to go CRAZY. I have a feeling this is going to be at least a month of stop, GO, wait, RUSH...
Y'all all need to talk more
I'm listening to Depeche Mode and Abba b-sides this morning ("Happiest Girl" and "Cassandra" respectively). Because I'm making a b-sides playlist.
Matilda is on spring break, and her friend is here on a playdate all day. They've been fed pancakes, and fought with Emmett's old RenFaire wooden swords and shields in the back yard. They've listened to the pop music and dragged each other up and down the hallway, giggling.
Yesterday, Matilda and I played tennis for the first time.
Pretty good Spring Break.
Also, I'm helping my friend design a Thematic Jean Jacket and that's been a fun project.
I've been in a meeting and now I am deciding if I want to make myself a sandwich with what I have here or go pick up a burger. I think laziness is winning.
I think laziness is winning.
Lazy burgers are delicious!
If I had sandwich fixings here, laziness would absolutely win the day!
