Is the lamb cake gluten free or are you making cake you can't even eat??
I am doing much less dancing at my convention than planned, because I just haven't wanted to. Which is bad and good--I'm giving myself permission to not try to do it all, but worried I'm veering towards "skipping out on the good stuff just to "chill" and I'll regret it later"
Way to go, Suzi!
One year our homemade Xmas tree ornaments included clay lambs, and one of them got painted with white fleece festooned with garlands of confetti, so I imagine the funfetti lamb cake looks just like that. Although part of me keeps trying to interpret it as lamb-based meatloaf frosted with mashed potatoes.
I have done hardly any of what I hoped to do today. Oh well. I made it to Tai Chi, and it was a good practice session with a little more push-hands stuff. Had the mild epiphany that learning to hold a frame for ballroom dance a million years ago is helpful for holding a good frame in tai chi. Same basic idea. Then went by my parents' because mom had come across my prom dress and other mementos of mine in cleaning out one of her closets and figured there's no reason why I can't keep them in my closet if I want them kept (and I do, I think), and we went out to lunch because it was lunch time, and then when I thought it was time to go home my dad wanted to go over some more planning for backpacking in August. Which it's probably good we did, but I got home later than expected and also not feeling great. Too spicy a lunch or something? IDK. So it goes, I've still got tomorrow to do some work in the yard, it'll be fine..

It's definitely gluten-free. I'm not selfless enough to make a dessert I can't eat.
Hi, all! Gud, I hope your day is working out better than expected.
I got many of my front porch planters filled, which is one of my favorite spring things. I left a few empty, waiting on stuff that won't be out for a few more weeks. But I have cosmos, petunias, snapdragons, rosemary, and callibrochia, as well as the things that over wintered (chives, lavender, and thyme).
The lamb cake sounds fun. I'm glad the range of gluten-free things seems to be expanding.
I cleaned out my closets and the mantle in prep for the plumbing demolition. There was less crap in the upstairs one than I thought, but so much random junk in the coat closet. And I bought and put together a new rolling garment rack for all the dresses and seasonal stuff I keep in the big closet, as the old kept collapsing.
I still can't believe this is happening Monday.
There are dark chocolate Reese's Cups miniatures in the store. There are two bags in my house. Temptation is rife in the world.
Also! I found Sting! Hubby and I noticed it wasn't hanging on the wall where it normally was and wondered if we'd loaned it to someone. I found it at the bottom of a pile of stuff on the couch--yes, I know, slatterns of the world, unite. But I'm glad it didn't go far, and it's now hanging back on the wall where it should be.
It is a wonderful sword for chopping into snowmen.
Well crappie, tomorrow is K-Bug's birthday and I'm a bad mom who hasn't gotten her a birthday present. I have a card and a booklet of Lisa Frank stickers but that is it. Inspiration had not hit and with the week I've had it almost kinda forgot. Sorta.
Ideas?
Thanks all. I'm hanging in there. Too busy to hang out online though.
I was just thinking of you, Gud!
