I've added even stronger drugs to my attempt to combat the migraine, and given up on work for now. I'm watching Postmodern Jukebox videos instead. And, although Tambourine Guy isn't super helpful when your head is pounding, he's beneficial psychologically.

So as the day progresses I am more and more angry about the NC statehouse vote. The fake fear of bathroom attacks or whatever. I do not even know. There is no cause for it, just isolating and humiliating already disenfranchised and often fragile people. FUCK YOU ASSHOLES.

You know who attack people is disproportionate numbers? STRAIGHT MEN. Ban them from my spaces!

I think the big guns are working. But I'm also tripping balls, man. Good lord. I kind of like this loopy feeling (family of addicts, yay), but it's also disconcerting.

Trans people are overwhelmingly more likely to be attacked (and killed) than to attack someone. But by all means, make them more unsafe by forcing them to use the wrong bathroom. Raaaaaage. #preachingtothechoir

And, as has been pointed out elsewhere, who's going to check to verify someone's "biological" gender? What happens to women who aren't conventionally feminine or men who don't look masculine enough?

And, for once, I feel justified in saying "think of the children" - since they've proposed similar rules for schools. What happens when someone gets inappropriate while checking a child's genitals?

I would have so much more respect for these idiots if they stopped trying to cloak their hate in "concerns about women's health" and "we have to protect the children" and just flat out said "We hate and fear brown people, gays, and anyone's who's in the slightest way different from us, and we think women are too stupid to make their own decisions."

Okay, respect isn't really the word, but at least we wouldn't have to waste time with sanctimonious hand-wringing.
