Angel: Just admit it: you think you're gonna ride in, save the day, and sweep Buffy off her--Spike: Like you're not thinking the same thing. Angel: I'm already seeing somebody. Spike: What, dog girl?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

When it comes to driving, people really are idiots, agreed.

I was just thinking how we could practice together, Burrell! Seeing what the differences are would be so interesting. I think I am learning Yang-style short form, fwtw.

Well the big plus would be getting to spend time together, but the Tai Chi would be bonus. Would probably involve good food afterwards. hmmmmm... I'll be in the Bay Area at some point over summer, I'm sure. May be the year to plan a mini Bay Area f2f.

I am also learning one of the Yang forms, and Grasping Sparrow's Tail (that's what my teacher calls it) is a key piece in the short form, so that all makes sense. So beautiful and it feels so fluid. For maximum confusion potential, I think there's several different Yang forms.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, yes, I'm sure there are. Yay mini Bay Area f2f + Tai Chi! I would love to see you, with or without the practice, of course.

So, we have tomorrow off, so my coworkers are variously calling today Friday or Thriday or something. I have decided to take the radical stance that it's still Thursday, dammit, the passage of time is not ruled by my work schedule.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

The holiday talk just got me to check our schedule, and we have tomorrow off! Who knew? (Answer: Not me.)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

So, we have tomorrow off, so my coworkers are variously calling today Friday or Thriday or something. I have decided to take the radical stance that it's still Thursday, dammit, the passage of time is not ruled by my work schedule.

When we worked a 4-day week at my old job, some co-workers loved to call Thursday "Thriday." LOVED. It drove me absolutely batshit crazy, because I am humorless or something.

Tim has tomorrow off, and conveniently FINALLY has an appointment with a rheumatologist for his maybe!gout/maybe!RA. He's the kind of stoic person who NEVER complains about feeling sick/feeling pain, so when he does complain, you know that on a scale of 1-10, his pain is the level of "I am actively being mauled by a bear." He's been complaining about it more this month (and by "more," I mean "maybe 3 times out of the whole month"), so you know it's bad.

(Contrast that with me, who is like "My hip is somewhat uncomfortable! I AM DYING RIGHT NOW NO ONE HAS EVER SUFFERED LIKE ME!!!" Poor Tim. Married to a drama queen. But come on, a somewhat uncomfortable hip really sucks. Well, it somewhat sucks.)

Hey a sore hip is legit. My husband is the bigger whiner between the two of us, but I am no slouch when it comes to whining. I am lucky I am mostly healthy and pain free.

My husband has tomorrow off, which is good because so do the kids. They have Monday off too, which he doesn't. Oh well, can't win them all.

brillig

Oh, right, it's a major Christian holiday this weekend. Mormons don't make a big deal out of Easter, so it always takes me by surprise.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, I've never worked anywhere where we got the whole day for Good Friday! I think one job we had a half-day.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've never gotten Good Friday off. But many of our clients do, so things are often slow for us on Good Friday.
