There are parts of Northside without black people?

Yeah, I feel like those people didn't really know what neighborhood they were in.

Oh, Cincinnati people! My friends with 10 year old twins will be in your town over Spring break and would like recommendations. I've already talked up the taco district but couldn't remember the official name of your neighborhood, Steph!

Definitely do that, although I'm guessing flea has more recommendations of stuff to do with 10-year-olds, since I am kidless.

information libertarian

What do they want recommendations for? Stuff to do? Places to eat?

The Museum Center is great for kids who like museums. The ice cave in the Natural History museum is probably the coolest part. The Zoo is very good if the weather is good and they have weeknight concerts in April. If the kids are artsy or even art tolerant the Taft is a small art museum that had a good impressionist show up right now.

Assuming they are not lactose-intolerant vegans, Graeter's obviously.

There is some sorbet, and it's quite good, but it's not like the chip flavors. Noms.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I would have loved Findlay Market at 10. I was a weird 10-year-old, though.

Oh, and Newport on the Levee has giant hamster balls that you can roll around in. Plus an aquarium and probably some other stuff kids might like.

Punishingly Intricate

Cool thanks! I saw Graeters in the freezer case of my whole foods last night! I didn't get any because i had donuts for breakfast and couldn't think of eating more sweet food at that point.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Update: the girls may now want to meet and dye their hair instead? Seems like the wrong choice to me as shopping will have way more potential for fun but hey, not my party.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

When I was standing in line at a Burger King a while back some woman who had driven up from Louisiana started chatting with me, and talking about how that particular place was so well-run, unlike the ones in her hometown (where The Blacks couldn't be trusted to do anything right). I just turned my back and froze her out from that point on, but what I should have done was loudly point out that she'd mistaken me for a fellow racist and tell her to hop back in the bigotmobile and go home.

I just Googled a question that has been nagging me for ages--how the heck do those little slidey things on the refrigerator drawer do anything to affect the humidity? To my surprise, the concept is not to keep humid air out, it's to control the humidity/vapors being generated inside. I have learned something, and it makes sense.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The Mondayness of today was not helped by having to get up a half-hour early this morning. (Gary has an in-town meeting, and was required to be there at 7:30. Which meant getting up at 5:30 to leave the house by 6:30. Meanwhile, I had to take the little guy to daycare, so I was out of the house around 6:45. There are two more days of this.)
