Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Which reminds me, on Wednesday I am taking my girl out for her first f2f meeting with a friend she met online. I assume they met through the Dan and Phil phandom. So now I'm driving my girl down to the Del Amo mall so she can meet some 14yo girl with the same haircut and they can go shopping at Hot Topic and talk about hair dye. Crazy. I did not realize that raising children meant reliving my own youth.

That is fantastic.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

How cool, Burrell!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I kinda think I'd rather have Trump than Cruz. I really don't know what Trump would do, but I'm pretty sure what Cruz would do.

I think that Trump is bombastic and racist and a dick. But I also think he's not as conservative nor as evil as Cruz. Trump will say anything to get elected, but I don't think he'd act on it. Cruz is an unlikeable evil asshole. I'd pick Trump over Cruz.

The Del Amo mall is far! And suburban. So cute!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Today is just interminable, right?

I guess I have a hard time imagining that Trump won't act on the stuff he's saying. I heard someone on NPR saying that was why she felt comfortable voting for him. Something like "He says terrible things about immigrants, but I don't think he'd actually do anything. He's just saying these things to wake people up."

I am afraid to believe that. They are both terrifying.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I guess I have a hard time imagining that Trump won't act on the stuff he's saying.

I think he will, or he'll try to. But I do think that with Cruz the exec and lege will be in lock step, even if they hate being in his presence.

With Trump, he's enough of a loose cannon that I think there's a decent chance he also tries other things that the Republican congress thinks is beyond the pale and those bridges get good and burned such that even things they want they won't cooperate on, and vv. Also that even what he tries to do he's too inept to manage.

So while that scenario would see a pipeline of gawdawful stuff coming to his desk to be happily signed, just like with Cruz, the process could break down in a way that blocks at least some of it.

Anyway that's what I'm clinging to.

But end of the day, Trump is already doing his damage, while Cruz will have to be actually elected to drive so much destruction of the polity and culture.

So, is anybody here interested in Kpop? Because I have very recently become obsessed with this craziness [link] and it would be great to not feel like I am the only 43 year old American woman with this problem.

flea, there are plenty of people in fandom who are obsessed with Kpop of your age group and older.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I guess I have a hard time imagining that Trump won't act on the stuff he's saying. I heard someone on NPR saying that was why she felt comfortable voting for him. Something like "He says terrible things about immigrants, but I don't think he'd actually do anything. He's just saying these things to wake people up."

There was an article on Buzzfeed where the writer had his father explain why he supports Trump, and he started with the "He tells it like it is" stuff, but then said he doesn't worry about the extreme things, because Trump doesn't really mean that stuff. So, he tells it like it is but doesn't really mean it?

The violence at Trump's rallies is what really scares me. People who will do stuff like that on command are terrifying.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

So, what are the theories on a running mate for Trump. He doesn't play well with others. At all. So, who would he pick?

Aside from Trump's veep pick, something else occurred to me. I've heard Hillary vilified for being a liar, cheat, criminal, and an establishment politician who's married to That Man, but I haven't heard anything about her being unqualified for being a woman. I'm sure somewhere in the depths of the evangelical and ultra-orthodox circles there are people horrified at a woman not being in her place, but Hillary's gender hasn't come up. Is it because she's a woman of a certain age, so her femaleness is kind of irrelevant? Does she terrify people so much that she transcends what people perceive her gender should be/do? In any case, this pleases me.
