I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Now John Boehner has endorsed Paul Ryan for president.

I don't know what to say about that.

Yeah, it's an opportunity for people to buttonhole the GOP and say "But *what* don't you like about him? Lots of SCOTUS justices have been appointed in an election year."

Garland is middle of the road, but educated guessing leads people to believe he would vote more often with the liberal justices. Make no mistake, I'd like to clone RBG, but the GOP will just not be able to make Merrick Garland scary to the electorate. And, apparently, he's also willing to go through the process -- nominating someone like Srinivasan and having him smeared would have ruined him for a later nomination.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Boy, I envision serious shenanigans happening at the GOP convention.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

When was the last time you saw the Republican leadership put country over party politics?

The last time I can recall was in 2008 when McCain called for his supporters to abandon personal attacks and treat his opponent with the respect appropriate for a Presidential election. Alas, he was like the last T-Rex looking around wondering where all the other dinosaurs went.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Boy, I envision serious shenanigans happening at the GOP convention.

Shenanigan-planning is going on as we speak.

Perhaps time to invest in popcorn futures?

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

The Chicago Tribune had an opinion piece this morning whose author was claiming to give a reasonable view of the current conservative mindset, but I stopped reading a third of the way through because it was the typical fear-mongering "liberals are destroying the country" BS.

Maybe that's how a lot of them are feeling right now, but the argument that it's reasonable and all the liberals' fault (rather than the conservative media echo chamber) falls flat.

I saw a Politico blurb last night that GOP party leaders are supposedly planning to meet this week to discuss the feasibility of a third party bid if Trump gets the nomination. No clue how reliable that actually is.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse - would love to see you!

Same! I'm basically free after mid-afternoon on Saturday?
