I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Apparently we're going to Rainforest Cafe for lunch. The girls will love it and I will endure.

I will admit that I totally love the animatronic animals.

hip deep in pie

Sheryl, you have many (happy) babyful weekends ahead.

My sisters are the worst. They're always welcome here, but the one thing I ask is some advanced warning. They just called me, already on the road, to tell me they're coming to town. First they said they were staying with my cousin, but then sprung "I think we're going to stay with you tomorrow night." at the end of the conversation. I have been trying hard not to lose my patience with them, after some particularly bad visits home lately, but WTF?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh good lord, Sue. That's aggravating.

Baby! Yay baby.

"I think we're going to stay with you tomorrow night."

"I think I'm going to turn out the lights and lock all the doors." How can they think that's acceptable unless prefaced by "Cousin is having a plumbing emergency, and we've called every hotel"?

Plumbing emergencies come to mind because the water main break fix didn't hold. There was supposed to be one of those "Slide the City" giant water slides in Decatur today, which they had to close after a couple of hours because water.

Wow, Ginger! I know from working at the NO S&WB that water delivery infrastructure is generally old and in need of replacement, but when cities just can't deliver water they really fail one of their chief purposes.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Your poor roommate, shrift! And also, did you need one more thing to handle? No you did not.

this.

Sue, I don't much like your sisters right now. They are getting stern looks from Texas.

I got my nails did and went grocery shopping. E is supposed to have a friend over, but he slept until past noon and his friend IS STILL NOT UP. I swear they were both up until the wee hours online with each other. Friday night is the only night I do not monitor his bedtime and he has zero self-control. They will be lucky if they get 2 hours of time together today.

A contractor hit a hydrant, causing a break in a 48" county water main. The can reduce the pressure, but they can't shut off such a main completely, so they have to use pumps to try to clear away enough water so that they can patch the pipe. It looks like a miserable, muddy job. I suppose they could offer the opportunity to "Slide the giant mudslide."

I guess I'll go boil some water now, since that's what the cool kids are doing. Yes, we've worked our way to the boil water advisory.

I've got some gallons of bottled water, so it's hardly an emergency.
