You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hee! Of course.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Ah. Wikipedia assures me that I was not hallucinating my memory of seeing a musical comedy about the First Opium War in London as a young teen.

I guess that's reassuring, sort of, except for the part where a musical comedy about the First Opium War is an actual thing in the world.

I like this new train. It has working AC and can move under its own power!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I would not be surprised if there's already a musical about cannibalism. Urinetown is halfway there as it is.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I mean, there's something called Cannibal! The Musical, but I don't know anything about it.

It has working AC and can move under its own power!

Now you're just bragging.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

So I was supposed to meet a mom and her daughter to set them up on her Girl Scout project. Hour and a half late, with a half hour left to their allotted time. She was all, "so sorry, I got caught up in a phone call". Honey, no. Just no. I'm blocking out my time to be available for you. I'm very aggravated.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Have that issue with auto insurance too--like, if someone is paralyzed for life and sues me , wouldn't I need tons of insurance??

My sister was involved in an accident in which a motorcycle ran into her company van and the two people on the motorcycle sued her. After that, we both had discussions with our insurance agents (different companies, neither one the insurance company handling the suit), and we both then increased our auto insurance to $500,000 liability and bought million dollar umbrella policies to act as sort of back-up coverage for both our home and auto policies. I was surprised how little it increased our payments. It was worth it.

The accident was technically her fault but I don't believe it was her actual fault. She stopped at a stop sign, then she pulled forward, and just as she did, the motorcycle hit her behind the front wheelwell, hard enough to slam the van into the ditch. He was going real fast and he didn't even brake. She never saw him coming. We both believe, and the police and lawyers seem to agree, that the guy was speeding with his lights off, down this curving country road with no streetlights, at twilight, at the end of which is nothing but some houses and a tavern, and he has a history of accidents and driving drunk, while my sister has zero accidents in 50 years of driving, so... yeah. That was two years ago and she's been terrified ever since that they were going to take everything she has. They settled for the insurance payout and it's finally over. But if my ultra-careful sister can get into an accident and get sued, anyone can. And that's why I bought a huge umbrella policy.

Yipes Zen! I am so used to the let's-not-bring-insurance-into-this approach.
