Random things people have told me lately that entertained me:

Friend of a friend who I rarely see told me I was someone she follows on Facebook because she finds my life interesting. I think she's pretty cool, so that made me happy--because of course, I have those people too, and it makes me smile to know I'm that person for someone!

Then at dancing a guy (who is a good dancer) told me after dancing with me "you've gotten very dancey! I mean, you were always dancey, but you've improved" and it made me giggle because I knew what he meant, but describing it as "dancey" is not very articulate.

OK, I've gotten enough done, the sun has set, I'm going to bed.

Loki goes apeshit over any cat on the other side on the window even when it's Pumpkin, inside the house. But he's special.

Back from game night at Atomic Books with lisah & Lori& Lina, the latter of which are crashing here on their way through. So that was fun. And they got me to play an actual game!

And now that I've finished the dishes and set up the coffee, I should go to bed like my sensible guests who get to sleep in, the luckies.

The fabric stores have started to make Christmassy noises.

Yes, I know, crafters need extra lead time. But dammit, at least give me my Halloweeny things a few weeks before the holly and peppermint start showing up!

Oh, my. I found myself poking around LinkedIn for the first time since I got my current job, and I saw that my work nemesis at my previous job has made manager. This is a person who never saw a deadline she couldn't miss and who, as a communications professional, didn't like to communicate via email because then her commitments were in writing and people could hold her to them. I'm suddenly far less disappointed that I got laid off from that job. And now I see why at least three other people in that department are making less than discrete inquiries about openings elsewhere. [Does the "not my circus, not my monkeys" dance.]

I feel like I need a bubble. Too many heavily scented people at the airport. My lungs are still on edge after last week's asthma issues and I'm just finishing a course of Pednisone. Thankfully my inhaler and an iced latte (cold caffeine for the win) are calming my lungs.

In the stores I frequent, the Halloween fabric will still be there right up to Halloween. Crafters also need last minute help. FWTW.

Tried that taco-shells-in-the-oven recipe that has been floating around the inter webs. So far I am not impressed, but have not actually eaten yet, so I suppose it might win me over. Pleased with my filling though - chili lime marinated pork, cooked for 24 hours then chopped and simmered with sour cream and cilantro (I like it and no one else has to eat this!). Looking forward to lunch.

There's nothing wrong with cilantro.
