"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The first six episodes don't count! They didn't know how to establish Leslie's character. It's only in the last of those six episodes that they get it right and then it starts flying in S2.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Right on. I trust everyone's judgment on this.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Here's the inside deal. It started as a sort of Office spinoff and Leslie was going to be kind of a loser and like Ricky Gervais/Steve Carrell's character that nobody respected.

But that didn't work. and they realized that Amy Poehler had this kind of intrinsic warmth and likability and they shifted gears and they made it more of Sisyphus structure with her being hypercompetent in a tiny pond, dealing with petty details. And that made zoning issues epic comic battles.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I also just watched Graham Norton mostly because of Chris Pratt, although everyone on was delightful.

Parks and Rec just kept getting better and better afaic. Although I liked it from the beginning.

Non-Parks and Rec --

This is an Ant-Man t-shirt I might have to buy: [link] I cannot stop laughing at it.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Worse than Karen Page, who Frank Miller turned from Matt and Foggy’s secretary into a drug addict porn actor?

Yeah, I think so.

Hey. New board.

I think parcs and rec is my favorite sitcom ever. It ended well, characterized perfectly, and equally prioritized hilarity and heart.

Is the Comedy thread locked?

Sorry. I'm responsible for that Chris Pratt-related derail.

(Because God knows we NEVER go off on thread-inappropriate tangents. Ever. My bad.)

(I actually went to check the Comedy thread.)
