Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

I kind of thought that Nuke was a pretty lame bad guy, (and I wish the showdown between Nuke and Hellcat was choreographed better), but the realization that Frank Miller created the perfect parody of a red pill chompin' MRA--25 years before the fact--was a pretty delicious irony.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Are we sure it was supposed to be a parody?

Not intentionally. The joke's on Miller.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Just running in to say I mainlined SHIELD this weekend and I'm so in love with the writers I want to throw my heart at their feet and ask them to stomp on it some more. And then reenact the orgasm scene from When Harry Met Sally.

Now, it sounds like I need to get caught up on Jessica Jones. I didn't realize Netflix released all the episodes at once. That should make this weekend interesting.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

AND! A show about male entitlement and toxic masculinity and family and friendship and shit life choices and grief and loss and... and...

I can't believe you got this and Fury Road in the same year.

I KNOW, RIGHT?

Man, almost makes up for AoU being so deeply frustrating.

In... not so much trying to sell someone on it, but letting them know some of what's in store in case they decide to give it another shot, I put it like this:

I'd say one of the core themes of the show outside of the portrayal of rape culture and PTSD winds up being that caring, giving a damn, is a choice, and not always an easy one, but always the right one.

Which, I mean, really, that's so much of the appeal.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

we are three episodes in. It's a little intense for us to mainline, but in doses of an ep or 2 at a time, it's works.

Any Bucky fans here? I don't think anyone here likes Bucky, right? Really apathetic towards the guy? Yeah, no one here will appreciate this trailer.
