Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I told him twice now that he needs to watch it before the 17th episode (I double-checked which episode it is). I hope he listens to me.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think at the point where someone is able to forget that the last hour of a $1.5 billion dollar movie was devoted to an alien invasion after seeing it, he should just resign himself to never being up-to-date with the story.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Award-winning P-C just came across my Tumblr dashboard: [link]

Sweet! Actually, that probably is one of the reasons I like this show. They aren't constantly pointing out that the women are women. The characters are just people (some of whom happen to be women) doing what they do.

ION, I just finished ep 6. Oh, holy fuck! And now I need to get ready to go to A Christmas Carol opening.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

They aren't constantly pointing out that the women are women. The characters are just people (some of whom happen to be women) doing what they do.

YEP. I loved that and I didn't even realize it for so long. And there's also a lot more sensitivity to the handling—and acknowledgment—of rape than I see in male-written shows. And the whole Kilgrave plot has so many parallels to the actions and thought processes of real-life stalker exes.

It was just so clear that this show was women telling stories about women.

ION, I just finished ep 6. Oh, holy fuck!

God, the ending of that episode. I love that feeling.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Watched five or six episodes of Jessica Jones this weekend. It is very good. Also, David Tennant is terrifying.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Finished last night. Lots to think about re: personal responsibility.

OKAY CAN WE TALK ABOUT MALCOLM NOW?

Ahem.

This show, man. This show is so, so good. It's dark, but I agree with the various reviewers who say that it's not grimdark. It's such a show about survivors, and what surviving means, and how trauma does and does not change you (see -t's point re: personal responsibility).

AND! A show about male entitlement and toxic masculinity and family and friendship and shit life choices and grief and loss and... and...

Indeed, dark but not grimdark.

I would love to talk about Malcolm, although I am really just capable of having my hands around and gibbering incoherently at this point.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

I kind of thought that Nuke was a pretty lame bad guy, (and I wish the showdown between Nuke and Hellcat was choreographed better), but the realization that Frank Miller created the perfect parody of a red pill chompin' MRA--25 years before the fact--was a pretty delicious irony.
