All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm 4 eps in and I'm liking it much more than Daredevil. There was one fight that had me cringing from the sheer brutality, but it was appropriate for the story. I'm hooked.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm also 4 eps in and liking it very much.

ETA and somehow, watching JJ before bed has led to me dreaming about a Captain America movie featuring a character who runs around wearing bright pastel saris and matching sneakers. I'm not sure if she's a god guy or a bad guy - I suspect her figuring that out was a significant chunk of the plot.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Unrelated to Jessica Jones (we don't have Netflix [shut UP]), one of my friends is watching Agents of SHIELD from the beginning, and posted this on FB earlier:

6 episodes into Agents of Shield, they keep referencing an alien invasion of NY. I should probably rewatch an Avengers movie or something?

I thought he was trolling. He wasn't. (Tim's reaction was "It was the ENTIRE END OF THE MOVIE. How do you forget that???")

brillig

I just hope he saw Winter Soldier, or he's going to be really baffled.

I told him twice now that he needs to watch it before the 17th episode (I double-checked which episode it is). I hope he listens to me.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think at the point where someone is able to forget that the last hour of a $1.5 billion dollar movie was devoted to an alien invasion after seeing it, he should just resign himself to never being up-to-date with the story.

Sweet! Actually, that probably is one of the reasons I like this show. They aren't constantly pointing out that the women are women. The characters are just people (some of whom happen to be women) doing what they do.

ION, I just finished ep 6. Oh, holy fuck! And now I need to get ready to go to A Christmas Carol opening.

YEP. I loved that and I didn't even realize it for so long. And there's also a lot more sensitivity to the handling—and acknowledgment—of rape than I see in male-written shows. And the whole Kilgrave plot has so many parallels to the actions and thought processes of real-life stalker exes.

It was just so clear that this show was women telling stories about women.

God, the ending of that episode. I love that feeling.
