least surprising "surprise" so far.
Really? I was genuinely surprised that
Adam wasn't dead.
I feel like I shouldn't be grading Kingpin on a curve, but that feels like growth.
I also think Fisk would rather
get shot in the face by Maya again
that have to
endure one more rendition of "We Built This City."
And I guess
Frank is just...squatting in a basement?
Like you do.
I'm seeing articles saying they had to re-record the
We Built This City scene with the kids
because the original group was too good.
I also appreciate that this episode didn't leave me angry. It was going to be an exhausting watch if the trend from the first three episodes had continued.
I guess we get two DD episodes this week since they're both on the short side.
I'm very confused why the
bank robbers needed to rob the bank when they already had the key
or maybe I just don't understand how
safety deposit boxes
work. Is there some additional identification needed?
Also, I'm really not sure
CPR works for blood loss
but I guess maybe it was whatever
sedative he used that caused her to flatline.
Either way I spent that whole scene mentally screaming for Matt to hurry the fuck up.
I'm focusing on the wrong thing, but I was legitimately excited to see
Jack Duquesne back on my TV and wielding a sword vigilante-style.
(I was spoiled for it, but I was still excited.)
The
bank robbery
episode had a very Leverage vibe to it.
I was not spoiled, so it was a pleasant surprise.
Also, Fisk
creating a squad of violent cops working directly for him
made me extremely uncomfortable considering our current political environment.
made me extremely uncomfortable considering our current political environment.
Right? I mean, it was 100% on brand for Fisk, but I was still like "Mr. Mayor, they
still need to wear body cameras please don't encourage them to do more crime!"
It took me a moment to realize what Fisk was doing in the final scene. My immediate thought was that
using an axe to kill someone feels a bit out of character
until he started talking about
how he learned to fight
and I realized what he was doing.
Do we think
Adam survived, and if so, is he going to just keep repeating the scenario
with him?
I'm assuming
Adam survived,
only because, while I DO think
Fisk is going to start killing again,
I don't think it's going to happen until the last or second-to-last episode.
Good call. I would not be surprised if he starts with
tracksuit douchebag that showed up in his office
.
ETA: Now I'm wondering if he will use his
dirty cop goon squad
to target his enemies.
