Just got back from Across the Spider-verse and absolutely loved it. I still haven't seen any of the Venom movies so I had to look up the cameo from those. I was honestly surprised at the number of live-action universe references there were. I was also very happy to see my favorite Spider-man cartoon Spectacular Spider-Man get some love, too.

omg I loved how unimpressed Mrs. Chen is with the whole thing. She's seen Venom eat people before. The multiverse is nothing to her.
The Venom movies are hilarious, btw.
That's where she's from! I knew I'd seen her somewhere. Anyway, I went to Across the Spider-verse yesterday, and I loved it. I went with two friends who were equally impressed. The animation was just jaw-droppingly gorgeous.
I saw it yesterday as well. Quite the showcase of animation, though I didn't like the story as much as the first movie. Still, fun way to spend an afternoon.
I feel like we should introduce the Spot to Mr. Nobody.
Dang, y’all. None more meta and I am here for it!

Obviously, the Sony execs looked at Venom and said “Not ridiculous enough! We need MORE ridiculousness!!”
So, here's the thing. I deeply deeply love the Kraven's Last Hunt storyline in the Spider-Man comics, and that's really what I want here. That said, I am *here* for this ridiculousness.
I know it's Sony and not technically the MCU, so it shouldn't matter that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is Sergei, but it's still weird to me. He's Pietro, man. There are other male actors in the world; surely they could have cast someone else.

Chris Evans was Johnny Storm in one of the failed Fantastic Four films before he was Cap.

Hush, and let me grumble!
There are multiple versions of Across the Spider-verse currently in theaters. [link]
Most of the differences listed in the article are really minor, but that's still crazy.
